An overall review of VIT Vellore.
Placements: As of the 2026 batch, 40 percent of students got successfully placed in core companies, and the remaining are either getting internships or are still waiting for placements. Top roles offered are embedded systems, VLSI, design roles, or software/IT. Internships are provided by colleges, but most students go off campus to get internships themselves.
Infrastructure: All labs have AC, and most hostels have AC too. Getting an AC hostel is purely based on CGPA. The library is a three-floor building with all kinds of academic resources. Classrooms are nice and comfy. It is big enough to accommodate at least 70-75 students.
Faculty: All teachers of all branches are highly qualified and helpful with all sorts of research. They will always be there to provide us with the required resources. The course curriculum is relevant and to the point. There are two sets of mid-semester exams of 50 marks, and one end-semester of 100 marks, along with assignments and quizzes, ensuring thorough preparation.
Other: There are multiple technical fests and fun fests organised all year round. The exposure through these fests is great and helpful to grow technical and build social and industry connections.

A comprehensive study of VIT, Vellore.
Placements: VIT promises very good placements every year. In my year, the highest package is 1 CPA, and the average package is 7 LPA. Companies like Microsoft, Google, Adobe, and Citi Bank come for internships as well as full-time placement offers. Roles offered include SDE or full stack engineer for CSE students, GET for core students, and consulting roles for everyone.
Infrastructure: Classrooms are digitally equipped with smart screens and facial recognition attendance systems. The library has innumerable books and journals on every subject. The grouping of books is also done very properly so that books of your choice can be found easily. Hostels are good. Rooms are clean, spacious, and properly ventilated. The mess food is decent. Fruits and milk are provided in abundance.
Faculty: Teachers are very helpful. They are approachable for even the smallest doubts. The curriculum here is very relevant to the industry. Being in my final year and sitting for placements, I can say that most interview questions asked are from our basic courses taught in the 1st and 2nd years. Semester exams have a good level of difficulty. The pass percentage varies from subject to subject. But to pass, the student has to put in effort throughout the year.
Other: My course is electronics and communication engineering. The curriculum here is very relevant to what the industry demands. The courses, way of teaching laboratories everything makes you industry-ready. The curriculum is very engaging and interactive. We have two tests, RIVIERA and Gravitas. Riviera is our cultural fest, conducted for 4 days in February every year. Celebrities like Shankar Mahadevan, Shreya Ghoshal, and Javed Ali come to perform. There is a very beautiful mix of South and North Indian artists.

A compressive review - VIT campus.
Placements: In my course, nearly 80% of students are placed till now in my branch. The highest package is 17 LPA. The lowest package is 3.3 LPA. There are multiple top companies like Samsung, Velankani, Eular Motors, and Embedded. These companies offer the best package and roles. Nearly 40% of students got internships in this college. The top roles are quality assurance, PCB hardware designer, and power electronic engineer.
Infrastructure: Facilities are good. Campus is equipped with high-speed Wi-Fi. Multiple labs are there like RAIL lab, IoT lab, cyber security lab, and C lab. Classrooms are air-conditioned. We have smart classrooms with projectors and audio-visual aids. Library has an extensive collection of books and research papers.
Faculty: Faculty members are highly qualified with many holding PhDs from reputed institutions. Teaching quality is also very good. They use advanced technologies to focus on theoretical and practical knowledge. Curriculum is also well designed and regularly updated. Exam level is easy to moderate, and 40% is the minimum criteria to pass the exam.
Other: I was always interested in technology so I chose this course. Best thing is that I am doing hands-on practicals in the lab. One thing that can be better is more focus on the technical part rather than theory. So many events are organized by this college like Aarambh Advitya.

Decent placements, good faculty, good college .
Placements: So placements for VIT Vellore and Chennai take place together, and about 196 students have got placed (without switch offers, i.e., TCS, Mindtree, Infosys, Cognizant) out of 480 students. The placement percentage is around 60-70%. The average package is 11.5 Lacs for ECE.
Infrastructure: Facilities inside the labs, classrooms, and libraries are above par. Everything here is good; since a lot of crowd is here, everything is paced, but apart from that, the infrastructure is good enough. Problems are there with hostels; you might need to live in a 6-bedded non-AC room, which is tough.
Faculty: Teachers are okayish, not too good, not too bad. Some teachers uphold grudges and do partiality against a few North Indians, which is definitely not to be appreciated. Also, the curriculum is a bit tougher for ECE students, especially. Exams are fine; no problem with that.

The overall review is good.
Placements: In Zomato, TCS, and many other companies, many of them are chosen as well with a good package from the companies. There are many of them from the internships themselves; some can be done from the college, which adds a good remark to the CV.
Infrastructure: It's a very huge college and has a lot of facilities provided to the students to take part in and participate in sports. The hostels are clean and are regularly checked in case of any issues the students are facing and give comfort for students to study.
Faculty: It's a pretty good college providing good facilities. The exams are conducted very specifically on the given date and time, making it comfortable for the students to give and have no issues regarding it. The faculty are very helpful when it comes to clearing doubts.

Really good infrastructure Nice placements in 2024 Fests are amazing Alot of crows
Placements: I have started my college in the year 2024 and this year total 1500 students have taken ECE. This is inclusive of all the specializations. In ECE (core ) there are about 1000 students. VLSI there are about 300 and the rest in BIOMED. Intel and Nvidia are the top recruiting companies.
Infrastructure: The class rooms and the labs are really good. The atmosphere and the devices equipments everything is out of the world. When it comes to hostel, the new ones are amazing but the old ones are not that good. They are making new hostels. I would prefer you to chose ac hostel. The ac is on 24/7.
Faculty: The teachers are really helpful and they are ready to take the extra mile for you. The course has an extra subject which is dedicated for making you industry ready . The exams are not very difficult it's mostly based on what's taught and you can always refer old papers. The seniors are really helpful, they will help you out with almost everything.
Other: I chose this course because I had a profound interest in hardware and embedded system. There are events every single week. I have been here for quite sometime now and every week there are atleast 1or 2 events. There was recently a fest GRAVITAS its mostly of fun activities which does include laser tag and gokarting. There are numerous overnight hackathons and other competitions. Campus crowd is alot this is one thing u will always feel Extracurricular activities aree too many There are over 150 clubs and teams

Good placements even during recession, world-class infrastructure.
Placements: Around 95 to 100% of students are placed every year. This year, the placements are still going on. For ECE, Siemens, Schneider, NVIDIA, and Texas Instruments have recruited. Graduate Engineer Trainee, Software Developed. Data analyst and data scientist are some of the many roles offered. The average package is 9 LPA and the highest package offered was 80 LPA. About 70% of the students got internships and some have received both internships and full-time offers. KPIT, Siemens, Schneider, Philips, etc. have provided internships.
Infrastructure: The infrastructure is excellent. Wi-fi is available in all the hostel blocks. Classrooms have smartboards that faculty members use to present their lectures. The quality of the food is very good and better compared to other colleges. Students can select from various types of messes and can change them every month. Many basketball, volleyball, badminton courts, swimming pool and gymnasiums are available to students.
Faculty: The teachers are all very qualified and knowledgeable. They are ready to help with research work or doubts regarding the curriculum matter. The teaching quality is good and any irregularities can be raised in the quality circle meetings. Strict action is taken against the faculty. The curriculum is relevant but it also includes a lot of outdated technology that is no longer in use. I feel the syllabus can be improved further. The students are industry-ready. The continuous assessments (2 every semester) are moderate to difficult and the final exams are moderate. The quizzes and assignments are often easy. The pass percentage varies from class to class and subject to subject.
Other: ECE is the perfect blend of software and hardware. One can pursue a career in the core industry or the IT industry. This course also helps with placements. We have a lot of practical work to do, and we have to deal with a lot of pieces of equipment in this course. The hands-on learning helps nurture interest and curiosity. The syllabus can be updated by eliminating some outdated technologies no longer used anywhere, and the course is considered to be one of the toughest branches of engineering. Gravitas is the technical fest and Riviera is the cultural fest. We also have over 250 clubs and chapters that students can be a part of. Along with this, sports are also actively played; we have our own VIT Premier League every year.

VIT-Vellore, huge crowd, but good placements and infrastructure.
Placements: In 2023, 98% of students were placed, with placements ranging from 4 LPA to 1 CPA. The average package ranges from 6 LPA to 15 LPA, depending upon the course. A placement tracker is available on the website for more accurate statistics. 820 companies have visited the campus as of today, with top companies including Microsoft, Amazon, Google, Morgan Stanley, Intel, etc. Almost all the students get paid and unpaid internships. Entry-level jobs to junior management offers are given to students.
Infrastructure: Infrastructure is on par with even international universities, spread over 300 acres with a lush green campus and well-ventilated buildings. High-speed Wi-Fi is available all over the campus, including the library, labs, classrooms, and hostels, with speed up to 1 Gbps per system. Well-cushioned seats are in well-ventilated classrooms, AC labs, and very friendly lab assistants. Hostels range from 16-bedded non-AC dorms to single-bedded AC rooms, with fees ranging from 1 LPA to 2.3 LPA, including mess. Veg, non-veg, and special mess options are available. A 24x7 counselor and infirmary are available, along with a night canteen, badminton courts, and various canteens and shops.
Faculty: ECE is the up-and-coming course in the semiconductor industry and is very relevant in today’s time as it includes both hardware and software. It is a very challenging and interesting course. The faculty members are very knowledgeable and smart with Ph.D. degrees and a very helpful attitude. Semester exams are held every 5 months, and part tests are held every month. Almost all students pass, and the difficulty level is moderate.
Other: My course has a lot of scope in semiconductors and VLSI design, and I can get placements in both core and teaching roles, which is what intrigued me. I wish they would find new techniques to make the syllabus a bit easier, as the syllabus is very hard. Two events are held every year with celebrity guests, including one tech fest, and there are 59 clubs and chapters for student enjoyment. The campus is located 5 minutes from the nearest railway station.

Yes you can get ECE branch based on your options of filling in counselling. There will conduct nearly 11 counselling. So you can get your option in another round and if it is not possible then in 2nd round. So don't lose hope.

No, 56000 is a high rank. You can't get a seat in ECE in category 1 or 2. But, it is possible for the last category which doubles the fess of category 1.

You have to appear for VITEEE entrance test, else it's not possible to get admission in any of the B.Tech programs.

VIT doesn't accept JEE Score. There is a separate entrance called VITEEE conducted by VIT to take admission in any of the B.Tech programmes. And the minimum eligibility is 60% in 12th boards.

I feel it would be difficult for you to get a seat in ECE in category 1. I would say try your luck. There have been situations, where it was available till 9000. I hope this helps.
