SET cutoff 2022 is expected to be released anytime soon. SET 2022 results have been announced on July 12, 2022. Candidates who have appeared for the SET exam can download their SET scorecards using their login credentials. The SET cutoff is the minimum score required to get admission to the institute that the candidate has applied for. The cutoff will be declared by each participating institute. Once the SET cutoff has been released, a list of shortlisted candidates will be released. These candidates will be required to appear for further selection procedure which includes Studio Test/ Personal Interview, Group Exercise and Written Ability Test. Candidates who appeared for the exam and meet the SET cutoff of the Symbiosis institutes they have applied for will be called for the further selection procedure. Candidates will be required to appear for Group Discussions, Personal Interviews and Written Ability Tests. The registrations for the SET counselling has begun on July 10.

  • Group Exercise: A group of students will be given a topic on which they will be required to give their views. 
  • Written Ability Test (WAT): Students will be required to write a few sentences on the topic allotted to them. Moreover, there could be subjective-type questions and answers round on the given topic.
  • Personal Interview: Candidates will be required to appear for an interview with the expert panel from Industries or Academics which will cover general awareness, extracurricular activities, academics and candidate-specific field of interest, communication skills and personality.

Q:   Who determines the SET cutoff?
A: 

SET cutoff is released by the participating institutes after the announcement of the SET result. The ten prestigious Symbiosis Institutes accept SET scores. SET scores are accepted for various undergraduate programmes offered by these institutes. The SET cut-off is different for all institutes and courses. These cutoffs will be available on the official website of each participating college or institute. Candidates who have appeared for the SET exam must meet the cutoff of their preferred institute in order to gain admission to that particular institute.

According to the previous cutoff trends, the SET cutoff generally range from 85-89 for the General category. Last year, the highest SET cutoff was 89 for the General category. Shortlisted candidates who match the cutoff will be called for further selection procedure, which includes, Written Ability Test, Group Discussion and Personal Interview.

Q:   When will SET cut-offs be announced?
A: 

SET cut-offs will be announced after the declaration of the result. The SET scores are accepted by the ten prestigious colleges of the Symbiosis International (Deemed University) and each individual institute releases their own cutoff after the results are announced. SET results are usually announced in the last week of May, for the both the sessions and other courses. Students can check the same on the official websites of the institutes. The students who match the cutoff criteria will be called for further selection process which includes Group Discussions and Personal Interview . Some institutes also conduct Written Ability Test as a part of the selection process.
