As per the NIRF 2025 rankings, IIT Guwahati ranks #8 under the 'Engineering' category.

IIT Guwahati has been ranked 334 as per the latest QS World University Rankings 2026.

The GATE 2026 exam for admission to ME/MTech/PhD courses will be conducted on Feb 7, Feb 8, Feb 14, and Feb 15, 2026.

The JEE Advanced 2026 application form is expected to be released in April 2026, and the examination will be conducted on May 17, 2026.
The JEE Main 2026 Session 1 admit cards for IIT Guwahati admission to BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses are now available for download on the official website for students scheduled to appear from Jan 21 to Jan 24, 2026.
The UCEED 2026 entrance exam for the B.Des programme is scheduled for Jan 18, 2026, and the results will be declared on Mar 6, 2026.
The IIT JAM 2026 admit cards can now be downloaded from the official portal for admission to the MSc course. Further, the IIT JAM exam 2026 is scheduled to be conducted on Feb 15, 2026.
