- The JEE Main registration 2026 is now open for IIT Guwahati admission to BTech, BArch, and BPlan courses. The registration deadline for session 1 is Nov 27, 2025, and the exam will tentatively be conducted between Jan 21 and Jan 30, 2026.
- The UCEED 2026 registration portal is open for IIT Guwahati admission to the B.Des course. With a late fee, the deadline to register is Nov 10, 2025, and the UCEED Exam 2026 will be conducted on Jan 18, 2026.

Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati admission requires the candidates to apply for the candidature online. As such, candidates must apply for enrollment in the admission process.

IIT Guwahati has a seat intake of 33 for MDes, including 13 seats for the General category. The institute reserves 3 seats for the EWS General category and 9 seats for OBC-NCL. Yes, IIT Guwhati offers separate hostel facilities for both boys and girls. There are eleven boys’ hostels and two girls’ hostels for accommodating students with their own individual rooms. Admission to M.Tech at IITG is entirely based on GATE score. Candidates with a GATE rank between 600 and 800 and a score between 400 and 800 will have a good chance for getting admitted in an MTech course at IITG. However, as the cutoff marks change for every admission year, hence, the number can vary. A relaxation in the required cutoff is given to the candidates belonging to reserved categories.
