Best college of all time.

Placements: In Civil Engineering, there was above 87% placement. In 2024, the highest package was 23 LPA. Top recruiting companies were BPCL, Reliance Industries, Hindustan Petroleum, and many more. In the 2nd year, rarely 20-25% of students got placed, but in the 3rd year, it went above 30-40%.

Infrastructure: The infrastructure was good, with various labs and machines. Sports facilities were also average, and the quality of mess food was very good. Classrooms were well maintained with projectors and mics. Wi-Fi connection was average, around 2-2.5 Mbps, but personal network speed was the best of all time.

Faculty: Professors at NIT Patna were highly qualified, with PhDs in their respective subjects, but their teaching skills were somewhat very good. They were like an ocean of knowledge but were very good at expressing their thoughts. The course curriculum followed the NEP and was industry-relevant. Semester exams were easy, and the pass rate was near 93% in the first year.

Review of NIT Patna - National Institute of Technology.

Placements: 70% of students get placed in very good companies. The highest package by alumni of college is 2 crores per year. The average package is 20 LPA. Companies like Amazon, Wipro, TCS, etc., visit the college for placements. In my course, students get roles like upper civil engineer.

Infrastructure: Classrooms are very big and with air-conditioners and a beautiful design. It is an old college, but it is very good. Wi-Fi is used at every corner of campus and the hostel too. The library is very big and consists of every book maximum that we need. The food quality is excellent and sports are played many like all NITs.

Faculty: Teachers are very helpful for our studies. They are very knowledgeable. The teaching method is also good. The course curriculum is very good. Students can be ready for any test or exam. Semester exams are moderate. They can be asked to hear seniors and ready for exams.

Other: Actually, I have got my course in counseling process of JoSAA by JEE main percentile, but the civil engineering branch is very good because it is the main branch of NIT Patna. It is 100 years old. Many events are organised every year, by seniors. Scholarships are given by national scholarship portals.

According to me, it's an NIT college, so students gain good knowledge.

Placements: Around 80%-85% of students are placed in our course. The highest salary package in our college is 45 LPA, the average salary package is 14 LPA, and the lowest salary package is 6 LPA. Aditya Birla, Tata, PhonePe, and more companies are recruiting for our course. Every student gets an internship in the 2nd or 3rd year after hard work. There is a placement coordinator.

Infrastructure: Facilities available in our hostel include Wi-Fi, drinking water, light, fans, and beds. Fully air-conditioned classrooms are available in our college. A central library is also available on our campus, and books can be issued by students. The quality of food in the mess is average. There are three canteens available on our campus, and the fast food is good. We have a small ground to play different sports like volleyball, football, and cricket. However, only one sport (either cricket or football) can be played at a time. We also have a badminton court, table tennis, and music facilities.

Faculty: Teachers are helpful in studies and projects. They are qualified and very knowledgeable. We are comfortable studying with them. According to me, the course curriculum is relevant. It prepares us to manage future tasks. The mid-semester exam is good because teachers ask questions based on what they taught in class. The end-semester exam has not been conducted yet. The pass percentage is 33% of the total marks.

Other: I chose this course because it lies within my rank. The best thing about my course is that it is an evergreen branch. I wish the course could be improved in the first year. There are a few events and fests conducted, like Natvansh and Bollywood. Our campus is very small, covering 36 acres. Connectivity is good because the station is 4 km away, and the airport is 10 km away. It is a high-density city. Scholarships are available for students.

Take a glimpse of NIT Patna.

Placements: More than 90% of placements were achieved in the year 2022. The lowest package offered was 3.6 LPA, and the highest was for 2.1 crores for TCS and Facebook respectively (also Google). The average for civil varied between 7-10 LPA. L&T, UltraTech, Birlas, and others were the most prominent companies among these. At least 50% of students got an internship + FTE at Larsen and Toubro, UltraTech, Adani Power, Afcons Infrastructure, and others.

Faculty: Professors from the institute have a very good command over their respective subjects, as they also promoted research in the institute. Well-qualified professionals teaching their subjects well and sharing their experience with the academics made us learn a lot of things from them. The knowledge they provide in the classrooms, they make you implement the same in the laboratories. It was very much useful for us to learn and remember the things, and when we started working after placement, nothing went new that we wouldn't know then. We have internal and external, viva and exams. For each semester, we need to qualify for both, but in your final mark sheet, as external marks, both internal and external are displayed. They are quite easy to moderate range. The way the course is designed by the faculty members is really good.

Other: It makes you familiar with the real life around you. Working in the infrastructure and construction field makes you feel the better of you. One thing that could have been improved was the timings for the classes and breaks. There are a number of events, fests, and other activities happening in the institute, like we had a freshers party, Eccentrica, and intramurals for sports. So many clubs are helping the poor outside the campus, like Sankalp used to provide free education for 12th-class students for free.

A college whose old campus is small but has all the facilities.

Placements: I am currently in my 2nd year of a Bachelor of Technology in Civil Engineering course. The placement opportunities in this particular course are not good, as I have learned from my seniors. There are a total of 125 students in this course. The criteria to sit for placements is at least a 7 CGPA. Out of the 93 registered students, only 35 got placed, with an average package of 7.5 LPA; the lowest package is 6 LPA and the highest is 12 LPA.

Infrastructure: The old campus is located along the banks of the Ganga River and serves as the previous campus of Patna University. The new campus is situated in Bihta, which is far from Patna City. Currently, only 2nd, 3rd, and 4th-year students from the CSE and ECE departments are shifting there. The old campus has essential facilities such as a hospital, library, bank, canteen, basketball court, badminton court, table tennis court, and gym. In the new Bihta campus, it takes almost 1 year to provide all the facilities like the old campus. The old campus has 4 boys and 1 girls hostel.

Faculty: The curriculum design at this college is good compared to other colleges. The semester system is implemented here, and two exams are held each semester: mid-sem and end-sem. Viva exams are also conducted. The marking system is based on relative grading, which makes passing not overly difficult.

Other: The old campus is quite crowded, with only one ground available for playing cricket, football, and volleyball. The fests are not well-organized, and the clubs here primarily focus on fun rather than placements. The fee is almost 8 lacs for general category students. There is a remission in fees for SC and ST students with low family income.

Yes, you can take admission. Many core companies like L&T and Afcons come. As well as many non-core placements are there for civil engineers.

Hi Rohit, if you want any type of help you have to tell your category but I am telling you about the General category. Last year the cutoff was 81 for general category and closing rank of civil engineering in NIT Patna was 28,800 approx for other state and 31000 approx for Home State in 7th round.13
