The UCEED 2026 exam will be held on January 18 (9 am-12 noon). The exam will be held in 27 cities across the country. The name and address of the exam center will be mentioned on the admit card. Here we bring you tips to prepare for the exam in the last few months.
UCEED 2026 exam will be administered in a center-based mode. Part A of the exam will be held online, whereas Part B will be offline-based. Also, Part B answer booklets will be evaluated only if the candidate meets the Part A - UCEED 2026 cut-off. On the day of the exam, the candidate must reach the UCEED 2026 exam center at 7 am. The reporting time will be mentioned on the UCEED 2026 admit card along with the detailed exam-day guidelines. It is recommended that the candidate reach the exam center on time to avoid exam-day blues. UCEED 2026 Exam Pattern & Marking
The UCEED 2026 exam paper format has been released by IIT Bombay its official site. Take these points into consideration before preparing for the exam:
- The UCEED 2026 exam will be in English only.
- The question paper will be of three hours.
- The total mark weightage is 300 marks.
- There will be two parts of the question paper: Part A and Part B. And the marking is given according to the same:
Format for UCEED 2026 exam Part A:
The UCEED 2024 exam will be conducted for a duration of 3 hours, tentatively from 9 am - 12 noon.
On the day of the exam, the candidate needs to report at the exam centre at least 2 hours before exam commences. So, ideally, the candidate will have to report at 7 am. Note that no candidate will be allowed entry inside the exam hall once the exam commences. So, the candidate must be punctual about reaching the UCEED 2025 exam venue.
The counseling process for UCEED 2025 will be conducted as a Joint Seat Allotment process. To participate in the counseling, the candidate must have qualified UCEED 2025 and assigned a merit rank in the UCEED 2024 exam. If the candidate doesn’t have a merit rank, he or she is not eligible to participate the counseling-cum-seat allotment process.
The Joint Seat Allotment process for UCEED 2025 will be conducted in an online mode. A total of five institutes will participate in the counseling process. Seat allotment during counseling will be as per the merit rank of the candidate in UCEED 2025 and choices selected at the time of counseling registration.
Also, the seat allotemt will be conducted in five rounds.

NOTE: 2 hours will be given to finish Part A and 1 hour will be provided for Part B. UCEED 2026 Part-A of the examination is computer-based, and no re-totaling is allowed. Part B will have two questions, which is going to be manually checked.

UCEED 2026 Part-A will have the following topics:
- Visualization and spatial reasoning: Ability to visualize and transform 2D shapes and 3D objects and their spatial relationships.
- Practical and scientific knowledge: Know-how of scientific principles and everyday objects.
- Observation and design sensitivity: The capacity to detect concealed properties in daily life and think critically about them. Attention to detail, classification, analysis,
inference, and prediction. - Environment and society: General awareness of environmental, social, and cultural connections with design.
- Analytical and logical reasoning: Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative information.
- Language: Proficiency in reading and comprehending Standard English.
- Creativity: Grasp of verbal and non-verbal analogies, metaphors, signs, and symbols.
UCEED 2026 Part-B will have one question from the given topic:
- The 1st step of UCEED 2026 counseling is online registration. The counseling registration process for UCEED will be conducted starting the 2nd week of March 2026. Candidates who have qualified in the entrance exam and have been assigned a merit rank in UCEED were eligible to participate in the counseling process.
- The 2nd step is the selection of campuses. Eligible candidates must register for counseling and select their preferred colleges in order of priority during registration.
- In the 3rd step, seat allotment is made. The allotment of seats is as per the merit rank of the candidate in UCEED and the choices selected. Post the allotment of seats, the candidate has to pay the seat acceptance fee and confirm their admission.
IIT Bombay conducted the UCEED 2026 exam on January 18, 2026 (9 am - 12 noon). IIT Bombay will release the detailed admission schedule, including exam dates and the application process. The exam is expected to be conducted in 27 cities across India. Part A will be offline-based, while Part B will be conducted offline. The application process commences in October, generally.
The admission cut-off for UCEED 2025 will be released on April 21, 2025.
The seat allotment will be released online at the UCEED 2025 - IIT Bombay admission portal uceed.iitb.ac.in.
To download the seat allotment-cum-cutoff, you need to click on the seat allotment download button given under B. Des 1st Round of Seat Allotment heading. Note that no log-in is required to download the seat allotment results pdf.
Candidates who are allotted seats have to accept the seat and pay the fees. Note that candidates were also given the option to withdraw their seats.
