UCEED Admission Process involves the UCEED Entrance Exam, the release of Draft and Final Answer Key, the declaration of result and counselling. Read on to know what the admission process is and how to get admission in IITs for the B.Des programmes.
UCEED Score card is released on March 10, 2026 for B.Des programme. The last date to download the UCEED Scorecard is July 31, 2026. It can be downloaded using Email ID and password. UCEED scorecard is valid for one year from the date of release.
UCEED Counselling will start from April 21, 2026. The application for B.Des Application will open from March 14, 2026.
The cut-off (𝛿) for Part-A marks to shortlist candidates in the OPEN category will be 𝜇 + (𝜎⁄2) = 𝛿, where 𝜇 and 𝜎 are the average marks and standard deviation of distribution of marks obtained by ALL the candidates in Part-A of UCEED 2026. The 𝜇, 𝜎, and 𝛿 will be rounded off to two decimal places. UCEED Cutoff 2026 was February 05, 2026. It was available at uceed.iitb.ac.in. Cutoff is released only for Part A.

UCEED Entrance exam was conducted by IIT Bombay on January 18, 2026. The exam timing was 9 AM to 12 PM. The exam was conducted offline at the UCEED Test Centres. UCEED Hall ticket and a photo ID had to be taken to write the IIT UCEED Entrance Test. The reporting time was 7 AM. UCEED 2026 Exam was of 3 hours.
UCEED 2026 Final Answer Key and Final Question paper were released on January 28, 2026. Answer Key PDF can be downloaded without any credentials. UCEED Answer Key 2026 has been released, taking into consideration comments added during the Draft Answer Key.

UCEED 2026 Application Form
The application form for UCEED 2026 was available online at uceedapp.iitb.ac.in/UCEED/home.jsp. Candidates who meet the prescribed UCEED 2026 eligibility criteria could apply before the last date.
How to fill UCEED 2026 application form?
The step-wise process to complete the UCEED application form is given below.
- Register online - The candidate has to register for the exam by entering details like name, email ID, and mobile number
- Fill in the form - Next, fill in personal, academic, and personal details.
- Select test center - The candidate must select THREE test centers in the order of priority. The name and address of the exam center allocated to the candidate will be mentioned in the UCEED 2026 admit card.
- Upload documents - In the penultimate step, upload documents as per the format.
- Pay the application fee - Finally, pay the application fee to complete the process.

Documents required for UCEED Registration 2026
The candidate will need the following documents to register for UCEED
- A recent color photograph of full frontal (face) view, with the head centred in the frame covering 70–80% of the photograph and taken within the last six months. The photograph should be such that it allows unambiguous identification of the candidate (only JPEG image formats with file extension .jpg will be accepted).
- Scanned copy of candidate’s full signature on white paper (only JPEG image formats with file extension .jpg will be accepted).
- For those candidates who will be appearing in 2026 for the exam, a certificate from the school/college principal in the given format (Appendix 1) should be uploaded (only PDF formats with file extension .pdf will be accepted). (Note: Appendixes are given in the UCEED 2026 Brochure)
- If the name is not the same as in the Class XII certificate, a gazette notification showing the change of name is required (only PDF formats with file extension .pdf will be accepted).

Candidates seeking admission under the EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST or PwD category
- OBC-NCL (Appendix 2), Caste (for SC), Tribe (for ST) (Appendix 3), EWS (Appendix 4) or PwD certificate (Unique Disability Identification (UDID) certificate or copy of UDID card or Forms in Appendices 5 – 7) issued by a competent authority (only PDF formats with file extension .pdf will be accepted).
- Dyslexic candidates need to submit FORM-DYSLEXIC 1 and 2 (Appendices 8 and 9) instead of a PwD certificate. The certificate must mention ‘SEVERE’ under Dyslexia category to enable the candidate to get the benefit of PwD category.
Commonly asked questions
Note that the Part B answer booklet will be evaluated only if the candidate qualifies Part A. Further, only such candidates who have qualified Part A will be shortlisted and allocated a merit rank.
This means if the candidates fails to qualify Part A of UCEED 2026, they will not be issued any merit ranks. The scorecards of such candidates will merely includes Part A scores. In contrast, the screcards of shortlisted will include a merit rank, total and sectional scores. Further, all shortlisted candidates will be eligible to participate in UCEED 2026 and seat allotment.
Eligibility criteria to participate in UCEED counselling are given below.
Candidate must be born on or after October 1, 2001.
Candidate must have qualifed in UCEED 2026 exam.
Candidate must have passed all five subjects in 10+ 2 or an equivalent exam in 2025 or 2026. Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam for the first time in 2024 or earlier are NOT eligible.
The counseling process for UCEED 2026 will be conducted by IIT Bombay as a Joint Seat Allocation process.
To participate in UCEED 2026 counseling, the candidate must have qualfied in the UCEED 2026 entrance exam and been allocated a merit rank.
This means, if the candidate has failed to qualify Part A exam, he or she will not be allocated a merit rank, and therefore are not eligible to take part in the counseling process.
No, you cannot apply for B.Des programme at IIT Roorkee even if you have cleared the UCEED Entrance Exam because Physics, Chemistry, and Mathematics are compulsory subjects in 10+2. But you can apply for B.Des programme at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.
UCEED Eligibility Criteria 2026
The detailed eligibility criteria for the UCEED 2026 exam are given below.
- Age limit - The candidate must be born on or after October 1, 2001, if belonging to the Open, EWS, or OBC-NCL category and born on or after October 1, 1995, if belonging to the SC, ST, or PwD category.
- Number of attempts - A candidate can attempt UCEED a maximum of two times, and that too in consecutive years. UCEED score is valid for one year and only for admissions in the same academic year.
- Qualifying examination - A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2026 OR 2025 to be eligible for attempting UCEED 2026. Students from ALL STREAMS (Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible. Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination (Class XII) in 2023 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in UCEED 2026.
UCEED 2026 Exam Cities
IIT Bombay conducted the UCEED 2026 exam in 27 cities across India. The candidate could select their choice of exam city when filling out the form. It was mandatory to select THREE cities in the order of priority. The list of UCEED 2026 exam center is given in the table below.

UCEED Counselling 2026
IIT Bombay will conduct the counseling process for UCEED 2026. A centralised counselling, called the Joint Admission Process, will be held. Candidates who have qualified in the UCEED 2026 exam can participate. The allotment of seats will be done in five rounds. Seat allotment will be based on merit rank and the college option selected by the candidate during counseling registration.
Application to B.Des Programmes at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur (Participating Institutes) will begin from March 14, 2026 (Saturday), 10:00 Hrs. The application portal will be closed on April 10, 2026 (Friday), 17:30 Hrs.

Both institutions offer the BDes course but with completely different admission processes. IIT Indore accepts admission based on the UCEED entrance exam, while BITS Pilani considers the NID Entrance exam/ BITSAT exam result.

No, you cannot get into IIT Bombay with a UCEED cutoff rank of 20 for the BDes course. IIT Bombay 2026 admission closed at a cutoff rank of 14 for B.Des in the General category under the AI quota. Hence, candidates must target a lower cutoff rank than 2020 to secure a B.Des seat at this college.
