IIT Bombay conducted UCEED Entrance exam for B.Des programme on January 18, 2026. After this, Final Answer key, UCEED Cutoff and Result will be out. Read on to know what happens after application forms are filled.
UCEED Cutoff 2026 will be out on February 05, 2026. It is available at uceed.iitb.ac.in. No credentials are required to download the UCEED Cutoff PDF. Cutoff will be released only for Part A.
The cut-off (𝛿) for Part-A marks to shortlist candidates in the OPEN category will be 𝜇 + (𝜎⁄2) = 𝛿, where 𝜇 and 𝜎 are the average marks and standard deviation of distribution of marks obtained by ALL the candidates in Part-A of UCEED 2026. The 𝜇, 𝜎, and 𝛿 will be rounded off to two decimal places.

UCEED result will be declared on March 06, 2026.
UCEED Entrance exam was conducted by IIT Bombay on January 18, 2026. The exam timing was 9 AM to 12 PM. The exam was conducted offline at the UCEED Test Centres. UCEED Hall ticket and a photo ID had to be taken to write the IIT UCEED Entrance Test. The reporting time was 7 AM. UCEED 2026 Exam was of 3 hours.
UCEED 2026 Final Answer Key and Final Question paper were released on January 28, 2026. Answer Key PDF can be downloaded without any credentials. UCEED Answer Key 2026 has been released, taking into consideration comments added during the Draft Answer Key.

UCEED 2026 Application Form
The application form for UCEED 2026 was available online at uceedapp.iitb.ac.in/UCEED/home.jsp. Candidates who meet the prescribed UCEED 2025 eligibility criteria could apply before the last date.
How to fill UCEED 2026 application form?
The step-wise process to complete the UCEED application form is given below.
- Register online - The candidate has to register for the exam by entering details like name, email ID, and mobile number
- Fill in the form - Next, fill in personal, academic, and personal details.
- Select test center - The candidate must select THREE test centers in the order of priority. The name and address of the exam center allocated to the candidate will be mentioned in the UCEED 2026 admit card.
- Upload documents - In the penultimate step, upload documents as per the format.
- Pay the application fee - Finally, pay the application fee to complete the process.

Documents required for UCEED Registration 2026
The candidate will need the following documents to register for UCEED
- A recent color photograph of full frontal (face) view, with the head centred in the frame covering 70–80% of the photograph and taken within the last six months. The photograph should be such that it allows unambiguous identification of the candidate (only JPEG image formats with file extension .jpg will be accepted).
- Scanned copy of candidate’s full signature on white paper (only JPEG image formats with file extension .jpg will be accepted).
- For those candidates who will be appearing in 2026 for the exam, a certificate from the school/college principal in the given format (Appendix 1) should be uploaded (only PDF formats with file extension .pdf will be accepted). (Note: Appendixes are given in the UCEED 2026 Brochure)
- If the name is not the same as in the Class XII certificate, a gazette notification showing the change of name is required (only PDF formats with file extension .pdf will be accepted).
Candidates seeking admission under the EWS, OBC-NCL, SC, ST or PwD category
- OBC-NCL (Appendix 2), Caste (for SC), Tribe (for ST) (Appendix 3), EWS (Appendix 4) or PwD certificate (Unique Disability Identification (UDID) certificate or copy of UDID card or Forms in Appendices 5 – 7) issued by a competent authority (only PDF formats with file extension .pdf will be accepted).
- Dyslexic candidates need to submit FORM-DYSLEXIC 1 and 2 (Appendices 8 and 9) instead of a PwD certificate. The certificate must mention ‘SEVERE’ under Dyslexia category to enable the candidate to get the benefit of PwD category.
Candidates from any academic stream are eligible to apply for UCEED exam. However, for admission to IIT Guwahati it is mandatory for candidates to have passed Class 12 from Science stream. The candidate needs to carefully go through the eligibiity criteria before they apply. It is because the candidate will not be considered for admission to the B. Des programme even if they get a rank in UCEED 2026 if they don't meet the prescribed eligibility criteria. Also, any candidate who is found to be using incorrect information about their eliigibity stands to be disqualified if caught.
Eligibility criteria to participate in UCEED counselling are given below.
Candidate must be born on or after October 1, 2001.
Candidate must have qualifed in UCEED 2026 exam.
Candidate must have passed all five subjects in 10+ 2 or an equivalent exam in 2025 or 2026. Candidates appearing in the qualifying exam for the first time in 2024 or earlier are NOT eligible.
UCEED Eligibility Criteria 2026
The detailed eligibility criteria for the UCEED 2026 exam are given below.
Age limit - The candidate must be born on or after October 1, 2001, if belonging to the Open, EWS, or OBC-NCL category and born on or after October 1, 1995, if belonging to the SC, ST, or PwD category.
Number of attempts - A candidate can attempt UCEED a maximum of two times, and that too in consecutive years. UCEED score is valid for one year and only for admissions in the same academic year.
Qualifying examination - A candidate should have appeared for the Class XII (or equivalent) examination for the first time in either 2025 OR 2026 to be eligible for attempting UCEED 2026. Students from ALL STREAMS (Science, Commerce, and Arts & Humanities) are eligible. Those who appeared for the first time in their qualifying examination (Class XII) in 2023 or earlier are NOT eligible to appear in UCEED 2026.
UCEED 2026 Exam Cities
IIT Bombay conducted the UCEED 2026 exam in 27 cities across India. The candidate could select their choice of exam city when filling out the form.

If a qualifying Examination Board awards only letter grades without providing information on the passing grade on the grade sheet, the candidate should obtain a certificate from the Board specifying the passing grade and upload it along with the grade sheet. In case such a certificate is not provided, the decision taken by the UCI Committee will be final.
If you are appearing in the qualifying examination (Class XII or equivalent) in 2026 you must ensure the following:
- (a) all parts of their final examination are completed by the date of application for admission, and
- (b) submit proof of having passed the qualifying examination with required eligibility by September 30, 2026 to the admitting institute.
Eligibility criteria for UCEED 2026 are given below.
Age limit - Candidate must be born on or after October 1, 2001. In the case of candidates belonging to SC, ST, and PwD categories, there is a relaxation of 5 years.
Number of attempts - Candidate is allowed to appear in UCEED exam for a maximum of two times and that too in consecutive years.

UCEED Counseling 2026
IIT Bombay will conduct the counseling process for UCEED 2026. A centralized counseling, called the Joint Admission Process, will be held. Candidates who have qualified in the UCEED 2026 exam can participate. The allotment of seats will be done in five rounds. Seat allotment will be based on merit rank and college option selected by the candidate during counseling registration.
Application to B.Des Programmes at IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Guwahati, IIT Hyderabad, IIT Indore, IIT Roorkee and IIITDM Jabalpur (Participating Institutes) will begin from March 14, 2026 (Saturday), 10:00 Hrs. The application portal will be closed on April 10, 2026 (Friday), 17:30 Hrs.

If you have biology as a subject in 10+2, then you can apply for B.Des programme at IIITDM Jabalpur, IIT Bombay, IIT Delhi, IIT Hyderabad and IIT Indore.
To apply at IIITDM, you need to have Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics/Biology subjects in 10+2.

Note that the Part B answer booklet will be evaluated only if the candidate qualifies Part A. Further, only such candidates who have qualified Part A will be shortlisted and allocated a merit rank.
This means if the candidates fails to qualify Part A of UCEED 2026, they will not be issued any merit ranks. The scorecards of such candidates will merely includes Part A scores. In contrast, the screcards of shortlisted will include a merit rank, total and sectional scores. Further, all shortlisted candidates will be eligible to participate in UCEED 2026 and seat allotment.
