UCEED Exam: Important documents and last minute tips

IIT Bombay will conduct the UCEED 2025 exam on January 19 (9 am - 12 noon). The candidate has remain in the seats for the entire duration of the paper. No student will be allowed to exit the examination hall until the test ends. The UCEED 2025 question paper will carry 300 marks. Questions will be asked from topics like visualisation and spatial ability, observation and design sensitivity, environmental and social awareness, analytical and logical reasoning, language and creativity as well as design thinking and problem-solving. The validity of the UCEED 2025 scorecard is one year.

Important documents on UCEED 2025 exam day

Some important things and documents you should not forget to carry on UCEED exam day are as mentioned below:

1) Admit Card: The candidate needs to carry with them a printout of the UCEED 2025 admit card. Any candidate who doesn’t possess a valid admit card for UCEED exam will not be allowed take the exam.

Q:   Which entrance exam is accepted by UPES?
A:

The university conducts its own entrance exams like UPESMET, UPESMET UG, UPESPAT, etc. for providing admission to specific courses. Q:   What is the date to release LPU NEST 2026 results?
A:

The result of the LPU NEST 2026 exam will be released within 48 hours after the exam.  Candidates will receive the test results directly in their portal. The candidates must enter their login credentials to check the LPU NEST 2026 Result. The result will not be sent to the candidates by post. 

Q:   Who is eligible for IIT Guwahati?
A:

In order to get admision at IIT Guwahati, the candidate have to meet the last educational qualification. To know the eligibility for few of a top courses offered at IIT Guwahati students can check the table below:

2) ID Proof: Candidates need to carry a valid photo ID proof to their UCEED exam centre. The official website informs: “Each candidate’s identity will be verified by invigilators as well as IIT representatives. If the identity of the candidate is in doubt, the candidate may not be allowed to appear for the examination. However, the authorities at their discretion may permit the candidate to appear for the examination after completing certain formalities. No extra time will be allowed for completing the examination in lieu of the time taken for completing these formalities”.

The ID proof that candidates need to carry to their UCEED test centre can be any one from the below-mentioned list:

  • Student ID card issued by current school/college
  • Passport
  • Driving license
  • Aadhar Card
  • Voters ID Card
  • PAN Card

3) Wrist Watch: Time is a matter of grave concern in UCEED 2025. So, the candidate may wear an analog wristwatch to the UCEED 2025 exam centre as it will help them keep a tab on time and complete the questions within the time frame that you fixed before commencing the exam. But be careful of the fact that your watch doesn’t have a calculator or any other text because of which you can be pulled up for using unfair means in the exam.

Q:   How much GATE score is required for M.Tech in IIT Guwahati?
A:

Admission to M.Tech at IITG is entirely based on GATE score. Candidates with a GATE rank between 600 and 800 and a score between 400 and 800 will have a good chance for getting admitted in an MTech course at IITG. However, as the cutoff marks change for every admission year, hence, the number can vary. A relaxation in the required cutoff is given to the candidates belonging to reserved categories.

Q:   When will the UCEED 2026 exam be conducted?
A:

IIT Bombay conducted the UCEED 2026 exam on January 18, 2026 (9 am - 12 noon). IIT Bombay will release the detailed admission schedule, including exam dates and the application process. The exam is expected to be conducted in 27 cities across India. Part A will be offline-based, while Part B will be conducted offline. The application process commences in October, generally.

Q:   What has been the cutoff trend for CSE at IIT Guwahati?
A:

CSE is one of the most sought after specialisation at IIT Guwahati. As per the last round of cutoff release in 2024, the cutoff rank for CSE among the General AI category candidates was 623. In 2023, the cutoff rank for CSE was closed at 654. Morever, in 2022, the cutoff rank for the aforementioned category and speciallisation closed at 589. Therefore, looking at the cutoff rank over the past few years, it was evident that there has been a fluctuating trend for admission to BTech in CSE.

Candidates need to note that they cannot carry electronic devices like – mobile phones, smartphones, calculators, tablets, etc., to their UCEED 2025 exam centre. Apart from this, students will also not be allowed to carry abacus, log books, slide rule, geometry box as well as study material of any kind inside the exam hall.

4) The candidate must also bring their own stationery to the exam hall, including pencils, erasers, sharpeners, ball-point pen, etc. Exam officials will not provide any stationery to the candidate.

UCEED 2025: Last Minute Tips

UCEED exam is just round the corner and some tips you should keep in mind to fare well in the exam are as mentioned below:

1) Work on Time Management

One of the first and most important tasks you need to perform in UCEED 2025 exam is to manage your time in the best possible way. The question paper for UCEED is expected to be tricky and how you plan to navigate through the test paper is what will define your success ultimately.

2) Revise

Go through topics that are your strengths as well as ones in which you get confused easily. However, refrain from studying new topics as this will only make you more nervous which can ultimately harm you on UCEED 2025 exam day. Also, try and check if you have studied all the important topics, basis of previous years' question papers of UCEED.

Some important topics you should consider revising before UCEED exam are as mentioned below:

  • Math problems
  • Colour theory
  • Puzzles involving images, patterns etc
  • Famous personalities – designers, writers etc
  • Indian Architectural history and facts about culture
  • History and evolution of art
  • Photography concepts

3) Be cautious of negative marking

The marking scheme for UCEED exam has changed. There is negative marking in UCEED exam and so you should think twice before making any guesses because this can harm you immensely in UCEED 2025. The new marking scheme for UCEED exam is as mentioned below:
