KCET Preparation Tips - Subject-Wise Hacks

As candidates are very well versed with the subjects of the KCET exam being the base of their 10/12 curriculum. Here are some additional hacks for students appearing in the exam. We believe that these subject-wise hacks can come in handy during this phase.

Subject

Hack

Chemistry

Treat Chemistry as the "Time Saver."

Many questions are direct facts from NCERT Textbooks, hence candidates must aim to finish Chemistry in 50-60 minutes to buffer time for Physics.

Mathematics

Maths is generally time taking, so candidates are advised to avoid long-form derivations. Focus on standard results for Coordinate Geometry and Calculus.

Physics

Focus on "Formula Application." If a numerical feels too long, it’s likely meant to be solved via a shortcut or by looking at the units in the options.

KCET Resources - Books & PYQs

Now comes the important part where students generally get confused and tend to make mistakes. This is the time when students refer to online study materials and overcrowd themselves with a lot of books creating unnecessary confusion and pressure. Hence it is advised for students to stick to the basics. While preparing for the exam, candidates must refer to the NCERT Class 11 & 12 Textbooks which is the holy grail for KCET. They must solve at least 10-15 years of previous year KCET question papers to understand recurring patterns.

It depends on the specific specialisation. While the main BE in Computer Science and Engineering branch at Sapthagiri College of Engineering closed at 66,750, you might have a better chance in Data Science or Electronics and Communication, which had similar or slightly higher closing ranks.

No, KCET is not a mandatory entrance exam for Jain College, Jayanagar BBA admissions. The institute selects candidates based on merit in Class 12 board exams only.

Thus, all candidates who have cleared their Class 12 board exams are qualified to apply for Jain College, Jayanagar BBA course.
