JoSAA 2019 (Round 7): Changes In NIT Electrical Engineering (EE) Cutoffs
The lastest JoSAA 2019 cut offs for Round 7 have been released on July 18. According to the latest JoSAA 2019 cutoff, Electrical Engineering (EE) ranks for admissions to NITs has dropped by an average of 635 ranks. While most of the NITs have witnessed a steep fall in ranks, there are some NITs which saw a rise in the EE ranks (closing), thus making the competition tougher.
The three NITs which saw the biggest fall in ranks in the sixth round of JoSAA 2019 counselling are NIT Raipur, MNNIT Allahabad and NIT Arunachal Pradesh. The ranks at these institutes fell by 2350, 2217 and 1883 respectively. Subsequently, only three NITs – NIT Srinagar, NIT Agartala and NIT Manipar witnessed a jump of 1542, 2637 and 2450 ranks respectively, in the closing ranks of their EE programmes.

The Joint Seat Allocation Authority is conducting JoSAA 2019 counselling for admissions to 107 participating institutes including 23 IITs (Indian Institutes of Technology), 31 NITs (National Institutes of Technology), 25 IIITs (Indian Institutes of Information Technology) and 28 other GFTIs (Government Funded Technical Institutes. The authorities release round-wise (seven rounds) cutoffs/opening and closing ranks for various UG engineering programmes offered by these institutes.
