Shiksha.com ran a poll where we asked, "Were you allotted a seat in JoSAA round 1 counselling?". Here are the results so far:

- The maximum candidates who participated in the poll said that they are yet to be allotted a seat in JoSAA counselling. 55% of the candidates are hopeful of getting a seat in the upcoming JoSAA rounds.
- On the other hand, 34% of the candidates said that they have been allotted a seat, but they have opted for upgradation.
- While 11% of the candidates are now relieved as they have got their desired seat in the first round itself.
This year, the total number of undergraduate engineering seats available through JoSAA counselling is 62,853 across all IITs, NITs, IIITs, and CFTIs. JoSAA 2025 counselling will be completed in 6 rounds this year. Each round of the JoSAA counselling will have these steps: seat allotment, seat confirmation by candidates, online reporting at the allotted institute, and payment of fees. After all the rounds, any vacant seats remaining will be allotted via the CSAB counselling 2025.

No, JoSAA counselling is not required for the students who want to take admission on the basis of entrance in BTech at Army Institute of Technology, Pune. Only entrance scores are considered at the time of admission. Students need to submit JEE Mains scorecard at the time of admission.

Yes, students may get a seat in NIT Puducherry BTech with 92 percentile in JEE Main through JoSAA counselling. The cutoff is high for specialisations, such as CSE. With NITPY being one of the top institutes and part of the NIT Tag, the cutoff is always high. But 92 percentile can be enough for later

The NIT Srinagar BTech seat allotment is first done through the JoSAA counseling. The allotment of seats is based on a candidate's JEE Mains score. However, if after the seat allotment, there are still some vacant seats for the BTech course, they are filled through the CSAB counseling.
