Firstly, you have to understand the fact that KCET is just an exam; it is not your life deciding opportunity that you had lost. So no need to panic, you have to gather information about the other options you have and start focusing on that. So here in this article, I will tell you some other options if your KCET exam score does not meet your expectations.

1.Whether to drop a year or not!

As you know that there are a lot of other colleges and other exams for which you can try if your score of KCET is not good. Therefore, I will not recommend you to drop a whole year for KCET asI also did the same.  Dropping a whole year is really a big deal. If you really want to clear KCET and get admitted in colleges of Karnataka then only you can think about dropping a year but I personally do not suggest you to go for this option from my experience.

2. Best colleges you can get with a low score

There are many colleges you can get with your low score -

  1. Dayananda Sagar College Of Engineering
  2. Islamiah Institute of Technology
  3. The National Institute of Engineering
  4. MCE - Malnad College of Engineering

3. Other exams you can try for

  1. JEE Main
  2. IPU CET
  3. SRMJEEE
  4. BITSAT

For every student, grabbing a seat in their reputed or favorite college is the top on their priority list but you have to understand that eventually the thing which matters the most in life is your passion and focus. I have experience of about 2 years in college so I can say that the most important thing for an engineer is getting a good score and the knowledge of skills because these skills play a vital role in getting a good placement.

6-8 months is a sufficient time to prepare for the KCET. However, for students who are well-versed with 10+2, they will find cracking the KCET easy.

Based on past year trends, Maths is generally considered difficult and time-consuming section to prepare for the Karnataka Common Entrance Test. Rest are easy to crack.
