If you have already prepared for JEE Mains then you have an upper hand when it comes to KCET Doesn't mean that KCET is going to be very easy but the experience of it can definitely help you.
Karnataka Common Entrance Test is an entrance exam conducted by Karnataka Examination Authority for admission in engineering, B. Pharma and other courses in colleges in the state of Karnataka. Here, in this article, I’ll give you some basic tips from my own experience which will surely help you to get admission in the colleges of Karnataka.
Explore colleges based on KCET
1.Syllabus
The syllabus of this exam is similar to your 12th class exam but you have to focus on some important topics to get good marks. Important topics for this exam are-
Physics- Kinematics, Laws of Motion, Work, Energy and Power are the most important topics for physics.
Chemistry- Classification of Elements, Chemical Bonding and Molecular Structure and some basics concepts of chemistry are the topics you have to cover-up thoroughly.
Mathematics- Algebra, Analytical Geometry, Trigonometry, and Calculus are the topics, which are most important for Mathematics.
2. Study Plan
As you may know, KCET exam is rated as an average exam based on the difficulty level. But when you compare it with other exams like JEE Mains then the level of KCET is quite easy. The question structure of KCET is very much similar to exams like IPU, SRMJEEE so if you want to score well you can use the sample papers and last year papers for this exam. If you prepared for JEE Mains then you already have an upper hand. I am not saying that KCET is going to be very easy; I am saying with my experience that you can crack it if you have already prepared for JEE Main and Advanced.
As I mentioned, the level of KCET is going to be average so you have to prepare accordingly. NCERTs are the books which will help you to crack this exam. In fact, I only used NCERTs and I got good grades.
For Chemistry, I will surely recommend the NCERT book because this book has questions along with the concepts.
For Mathematics, you can use NCERT and I will recommend you MCQ by Asit Das Gupta because this book will increase your speed of solving questions.
For Physics, Arihant publications and NCERT is the book that will surely help you to clear this exam with good scores.
As Karnataka Board mainly focuses on NCERT books, so you have to solve these books thoroughly to increase your chance to score really well.
3. Passion and Focus
According to me, in order to get anything in life, the most important things are focus and passion. If you really have the passion and if you got that steady focus than you can easily crack this exam. Your revision should be to the point and covering up all the topics.
4. Revision
I will recommend you to not focus on the new topics right now. Starting new topics is not going to help you, revising your own notes is the most important thing you can do right now.
So these are the tips you can use to crack KCET.
All the best!!
