IIT Madras is known as an 'Institute of Eminence'. The Indian Institute of Technology Madras (Chennai IIT Madras or IITM) was established in 1959 as a public technical & research university. Delhi Technological University DTU has received 30th position under the engineering category & 62nd under the Overall category by NIRF 2025. Colleges like IIT Ropar stands below this university. Hence, DTU is better than many new IITs but still stands below the top IITs such as IIT Delhi, IIT Madras, and IIT Kanpur.

IIT Dhanbad is a government institute. It was established in 1926 and was formerly known as the Indian School of Mines before its conversion into an IIT. • CSE / COE → ~95–97+ percentile
• ENC / ECE → ~90–95 percentile
• Mechanical / Electrical → ~85–92 percentile
• Civil / Chemical / Biotech → ~70–85 percentile

Marks vary each paper, so focus on percentile. Also, Thapar has a board marks quota, so strong 12th % can help.

Admission criteria to National Institute of Technology Calicut is primarily entrance based and is different for all UG and PG programmes. To get into UG programmes, the eligibility criteria is the minimum aggregate in Class 12 or equivalent, along with entrance exams. However, the eligibility criteria to get into PG programmes is graduation in any discipline (this may vary from course to course), along with entrance exams.

If you qualify under the General AI quota, the maximum required JEE Main cutoff rank for B.Tech admission was 60255 in 2025.Those who have a lower cutoff than the one specified can get a seat in NIT Warangal BTech. For CSE, ECE, etc., the cutoff ranks tend to be lower showing high competition for admission in the engineering aspirants.

While application fees for Kalasalingam Academy of Research and Education admissions are only INR 600, students must also pay application fees for the required entrance exams such MAT, CAT, TANCET, etc.
