GATE 2026 Exam Centre: IIT Guwahati has released the list of GATE 2026 exam centres. The GATE 2026 exam will be held across various parts of India on February 7, 8, 14, and 15. Candidates must note that there will be no international GATE exam centres; interested foreign or Indian nationals will have to travel to India to attempt the GATE 2026 exam. The choice to fill the exam centre is available on the GATE 2026 application form

IIT Guwahati has released zone-wise GATE 2026 exam cities on the official website. Candidates can select upto three GATE exam cities 2026 while filling out the application form from the same zone. Candidates had to reach the GATE 2025 exam centre 90 minutes before the commencement of the exam. Read below to know more about the GATE 2026 exam centres

IIT Guwahati has released the updated GATE exam centres 2026 along with the information brochure. The GATE 2026 exam centres have eight zonal centres - IISc Bangalore, IIT Delhi, IIT Bombay, IIT Guwahati, IIT Kanpur, IIT Kharagpur, IIT Madras, and IIT Roorkee. GATE 2026 Exam Centres for Foreign Nationals

As per the GATE 2026 official notification, "There are no international centres for the GATE examination. Interested foreign or Indian nationals interested in appearing for the GATE examination will have to travel to India to appear for the test."

How to add/change the examination city for GATE 2026?

Candidates can opt for the GATE 2026 exam cities while filling out the application form. The step-by-step process to add the examination city is as follows -

  • Visit the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS) website
  • Log in to your account with your Enrollment ID/Email Address, Password and Captcha
  • Click on the Change Examination City option
  • After making changes to the GATE 2026 examination city, you need to make a payment of Rs 500

Choice of examination city: The candidate can choose three cities from the list of examination cities in the above table. All three exam city choices must be from the same GATE 2026 zone. GATE 2026 reserves the right to add a new city or remove an existing one, and allot a city that may not be from any of the choices selected by the candidate.

No, a duplicate GATE 2026 admit card will not be provided at the test center. Candidates must carry their own admit card along with the mentioned documents and items to the GATE exam center. IIT Guwahati will release the GATE admit card on January 2.

Yes, candidates will get a scribble pad in the GATE exam 2026 to do the rough work. Candidates have to write their name and registration number on the scribble pad before using it. However, the rough sheet must be returned after the completion of the exam.

The barcode present in the GATE admit card 2026 carries the candidate's information. It is required for a faster verification process and fraud prevention. So, make sure it does not get tampered. Carry multiple copies in case your GATE 2026 hall ticket is torn or tampered.

As such, the GATE authorities have not mentioned anything regarding the black and white or colour printout of the GATE admit card to be carried or not. But it is better to carry a colour printout of the hall ticket to the exam centre Also, the admit card of GATE must be in A4 size format.
