AILET 2026 BA LLB Syllabus

Candidates can check the modified syllabus of AILET 2026 for BA LLB below:

  1. There will be three sections - The Mathematics and Legal Aptitude sections have been removed from AILET 2022 onwards. So, instead of five sections (like in previous editions of the exam), we now have three sections.
  2. Section-wise weightage changed - The number of sections has been reduced, but the total number of questions stays the same - 150. The Logical Reasoning section now carries almost 50% weightage.
  3. Questions related to Legal Principles - The Logical Reasoning section may use Legal Principles to test the candidates' understanding and familiarity with legal reasoning. However, no prior knowledge of law or technical understanding of legal principles/ legal terms is needed to answer these questions.

AILET BA LLB 2026: Negative Marking

Candidates must note that the AILET Exam 2026 has negative marking too. The criteria for negative marking will be based on the formula 0.25*4=1 that means per wrong answer 0.25 Marks will be deducted. Therefore, four wrong answers will lead to deduction of 1 Mark.

AILET BA LLB 2026: Tie-breaking Rule

Candidates can check the tie-breaking rule for AILET 2026 BA LLB course below:

  • If two or more candidates get the same marks at the All India Law Entrance Test (AILET), their merit will be determined on the basis of higher marks in the section on Logical Reasoning in the AILET 2026.
  • If the merit is still the same, then the candidate senior in age shall get preference. If still there is no change in merit, then computerized draw of lots shall be taken into consideration.

AILET 2026 LLM Syllabus

Q:   What is AILET BA LLB Syllabus 2026 for English Section?
Q:   Has AILET 2026 syllabus been released for all the programs?

According to the exam authority, the following changes have been made in the question paper of AILET PG 2026:

  • The LLM entrance tests will be Multiple Choice Question (MCQ) based only carrying 1 mark each.
  • All the 100 MCQs will be from the different branches of Law.
  • The duration of the examination will be 120 minutes.

AILET PG 2026: Negative Marking

AILET LLM 2026 exam will have Negative Marking in AILET 2026.

  • For every wrong answer 0.25 Marks will be deducted.
  • Therefore, four wrong answers will lead to a deduction of one (1) mark.

AILET LLM 2026: Tie-breaking method

Candidates can check the tie-breaking method for AILET LLM 2026 below:

If two or more candidates secure the same marks, then merit rank will be decided considering

    • Seniority,
    • Computerized draw of lots.

Q. When will the AILET 2026 syllabus be released?

A.  NLU Delhi will release the updated AILET 2026 syllabus for the BA LLB and LLM programs on its NLU Delhi official website. Candidates need to follow the current syllabus only, and not the syllabus from previous editions.

Q. Are there any changes to the AILET syllabus 2026?

A. No changes have been made in AILET 2026 yet, and it will be the same as last year's syllabus. The major changes were made in the AILET 2022 BA LLB and LLM syllabi only. For instance, the BA LLB question paper will now have only THREE sections (instead of five). The weightage of the three sections has also changed. In the case of LLM, the modified syllabus will have MCQ based questions. Also, the tie-breaker procedure has been updated. 

Q. Do I need to follow the modified syllabus for AILET 2026, or should I continue following the previous syllabus?

A. Candidates must strictly follow the modified syllabus only, as questions will be asked as per the new syllabus. The old syllabus will not be followed. Also, follow the latest AILET 2026 exam pattern.
