CLAT Current Affairs & General Knowledge Syllabus: The Consortium of National Law Universities mention the Current Affairs, including General Knowledge syllabus on its official portal. The Consortium did not provide a specific time frame for Current Affairs. Candidates are advised to prepare the current events of National and International Importance of last one year. The candidates can take December of the previous year as the cutoff date for Current Affairs.
CLAT registrations started on August 3 on the official portal and the last date to apply online for the CLAT exam 2027 is October 31. The Consortium will release the CLAT application correction dates soon on its portal. As per the official communication, the CLAT 2027 exam date is December 6. Why is Current Affairs and General Knowledge(GK) important for CLAT 2027?
Current Affairs and General Knowledge can make or break the dream of getting into the NLU of one's choice. It covers around 25 per cent of the paper. Candidates must prepare this section diligently to score as much as they can. But most candidates find it difficult to score in this section and hence a properly planned preparation of Current Affairs and General Knowledge can give an edge over others. The candidates find the syllabus of Current Affairs and General Knowledge as infinite and hence the candidates find it difficult to prepare this section.
The consortium does not mention any time limit for the Current Affairs topics. Most of the Current Affairs magazine are oriented toward the Government exam and they cover various events which are irrelevant for the CLAT. We advise the candidates to analyse the previous year question papers of the last 5 years to identify the areas from which the Current Affairs and General Knowledge questions were framed. This will limit the scope of preparation and the candidates will feel confident while preparing the section.

The number of such events is infinite, as every magazine is oriented to the Government exams and there is no specific CLAT-oriented Current Affairs magazine.
For General Knowledge topics, candidates are suggested to read and understand the Indian Freedom Struggle, focusing their preparation on the major events after the year 1900. We suggest preparing the major movements led by Mahatma Gandhi and the undercurrent of revolutionaries such as Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, Jawaharlal Nehru, Bhagat Singh, Lala Lajpat Rai and other prominent leaders.

Candidates can access the CLAT 2027 syllabus on consortiumofnlus.ac.in. The Consortium released the CLAT notification on its official portal. There are five sections in the CLAT syllabus.
The CLAT Syllabus is published by the Consortium. The syllabus has been announced. Candidates who are preparing for the exam must note that there are no changes made in the syllabus so far. Candidates can check the syllabus by visiting the official website. You can only download the PDF from website.
While it is not impossible, it is a really challenging task. To score well, you must start preparing for CLAT at least six months before. It is very important to score well if you are looking forward to getting into good NLU. For top 10 NLU, you at least need to score between 100 to 105 as per past trends.

No you don't need to memorise every section. Focus on important concepts key provisions definitions and CLAT style application questions. Understanding legal principles is more important than memorising section numbers.
