MH CET Law 5 Year LLB Colleges List: Maharashtra State Cell conducts MH CET Law 5 Year LLB exam for candidates who want to take admission in 5 Year LLB programme. MH CET Law is only centralized gateway for Class 12 students who want to build a career in law right after school by enrolling in BA LLB, BBA LLB and BLS LLB programmes.
Every year, more than 35000 to 37000 aspirants register for MHCET Law exam. Across Maharashtra, around 150 government, government-aided, and private unaided law colleges participate in process, offering approx 11,000 to 12,500 seats.
Mostly, candidates aspire for elite colleges like Government Law College (GLC), Mumbai and ILS Law College, Pune. - Government: These are colleges which are fully run and funded by Maharashtra government. These colleges have lowest fees.
- Government Aided: These colleges are privately managed but receive government grants. Candidates can expect low to moderate fee structure.
- Un Aided: Colleges that are managed privately and does not receive any government funds. These colleges usually have higher fee structure.
- Un Aided Minority: These colleges are run by minority community trusts, which may reserve some seats under minority quota.
- University Managed: These colleges are run directly by a university, such as RTMNU or SNDT University.

For MNLU Mumbai (CLAT), you usually need to be in the top 500–600 ranks, which is around 90–95+ marks out of 120 for General All India candidates. Getting admission in Government Law College (GLC) Mumbai with 96 percentile in MHCET Law is possible but depends on the year's cut off. Usually, GLC cut off stays very high, often above 98 percentile for open category. Still, 96 percentile has fair chance in reserved or outside Maharashtra categories.
No, the MHT CET Law exam (MH CET Law) is a state-level entrance test meant only for law colleges in Maharashtra. It isn't accepted for admissions outside Maharashtra, as other states or universities usually take national-level exams like CLAT or conduct their own entrance tests.

Candidates should always start with shortlisting colleges with closest percentile to theirs. Know more tips to choose right college while filling preferences
- Candidates should always start with shortlisting colleges where their percentile is close to or above last year’s cutoff for category.
- Candidates should fill their preference list in order they actually want. Put most wanted college first, even if cutoff looks high.
- Add mix of colleges. Include dream colleges, realistic colleges and safe colleges so that you get seat in some round.
- Always check status of college. Government and government aided colleges usually have lower fees than unaided colleges.
- Candidates should never ignore location. If you pick college closer to home, it can save both money and travel time over three years.
- Fill as many choices as possible. The more colleges you select, the higher your chance is of getting a seat in one of CAP rounds.
