What Is TS LAWCET?
TS LAWCET is the Telangana Law Common Entrance Test. It is now also called TG LAWCET, because Telangana has changed its short name from "TS" to "TG". Only the name has changed. The exam, the syllabus and the process are the same. Osmania University, Hyderabad, conducts the test on behalf of the Telangana State Council of Higher Education. The exam is held online, in a computer-based mode. Students use it to get admission to the 3-year LLB, the 5-year LLB and the 2-year LLM courses in law colleges across Telangana. The paper is set in English and Telugu, or in English and Urdu.
A candidate must score at least 35% to qualify, which is 42 out of 120. SC and ST candidates do not have a minimum qualifying mark. TS LAWCET is a good option if you want to study law in Hyderabad or in other parts of Telangana. Many students prefer it because the paper is short and the pattern is easy to understand. The syllabus is the same for both 3-year as well as 5-year LLB. This means one preparation plan works for both courses. Students who want to settle in Telangana, or who plan to practise in the state courts, often choose this exam.
