- MS merit list is for candidates with Maharashtra State domicile. It includes candidates who were either born in Maharashtra or have mother or father from the state.
- OMS merit list is prepared for candidates who do not belong to Maharashtra. These candidates are classified under the Outside Maharashtra State candidature type.
- J & K merit list includes candidates who apply for the exam under the Jammu & Kashmir candidature category. It includes only the children of Indian citizens who were displaced from Jammu & Kashmir to safer places within the state or other parts of India from 1990 onwards due to terrorist activities, as well as children of police and armed forces staff involved in counter-terrorism activities.
