SLAT 2022 Student Reaction (with Video)

The candidates who appeared for SET Law 2022 examination in the first shift i.e. from 9 am to 10 am, shared the following insights:

Vansh shared that the exam was easy to moderate, with only a few tricky questions in Analytical Reasoning and GK sections. The overall question paper was easy and concise as compared to CLAT 2022 question paper, which was lengthy and unexpected. The question paper had 60 questions with only a few short passages in the Reading Comprehension section.

Q:   What are the best sources to prepare for SLAT?
A:

The best sources to prepare for the SLAT are the books that have content based on the SLAT syllabus. Check out the list of these books below:

  1. Guide to Symbiosis Law Admission Test - SLAT by Disha Experts
  2. A Modern Approach to Logical Reasoning by RS Aggarwal
  3. Legal Aptitude and Legal Reasoning byAndhra PradeshBhardwaj
  4. Verbal and Non Verbal Reasoning by RS Aggarwal
  5. Quick Learning Objective General English by RS Aggarwal

Q:   How can I prepare for SLAT?
A:

To prepare for SLAT, candidates first need to know the pattern of the exam. SLAT pattern includes five sections in the exam question paper: Logical reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension and General Knowledge. Candidates need to practice topics or subjects related to these sections. To practise these topics, candidates can refer to the SLAT syllabus and practise sets and mock tests related to SLAT. The Symbiosis Entrance Test (SET) Authority does not provide practise sets and mock tests for the SLAT. Thus, candidates can find these practise sets and mock tests in any book designed for SLAT preparation. These books should be published by reliable and renowned publications. Books designed for CLAT preparation can also help candidates with SLAT preparation.

Q:   Which subjects should I study to crack SLAT?
A:

The important topics for the different sections of the SLAT exam are different. The important topics for the General English section of SLAT are Reading Comprehension, Word Usage, Vocabulary, Grammar, Inference-based questions, Synonyms, Antonyms, Foreign Words/Phrase, and Para Jumbles. The important topics for the SLAT General Knowledge section include Indian Ancient, Medieval and Modern History, International events, UN bodies, Major developments in the areas of sports, geopolitics, and important environmental agreements, Current affairs, Eminent personalities, Sports, and Awards and honours. The important topics related to the SLAT Legal Reasoning section are Legal terms, Indian Constitution and its structure, sections and schedules, Contracts and Constitutional Law, Torts, Vicarious Liability, Contracts and Constitutional Law, IPC and the CrPC, Strict Liability, Law of Crimes, International Law, Intellectual Property Rights, Legal Awareness covering Constitutional Law and Politics.

Another candidate, Riya Tonk shared that "SLAT 2022 was easier than CLAT exam, I could attempt all the questions within the duration, and got some time for revision as well. The question paper pattern for SLAT 2022 is consistent, which made it easier to attempt, and I could review my responses." Besides, the sectional difficulty level for SLAT 2022 was easier than the sample papers, with which I prepared for the examination. Moreover, the SLAT 2022 mock tests provided by the exam authority were tougher than the actual question paper.

She added there were some tricky questions in Mathematics/ Analytical Reasoning and General Knowledge sections. The overall difficulty level of SLAT 2022 question paper was moderate.

Q:   What was the difficulty level of different sections in the question paper for SLAT 2023?
A:

Candidates can check the overall difficulty level of all sections below for the question papers of SLAT Test 1 and SLAT Test 2 conducted in 2023:

Sections Test 1Test 2

Q:   What is the difficulty level of SLAT?
A:

SLAT, which stands for Symbiosis Law Admission Test, is the entrance examination conducted by Symbiosis International University (SIU) for admission to its undergraduate law programs, including BA LLB and BBA LLB. The difficulty level of SLAT can be categorized as moderate to moderately challenging.

Here are some key points to consider regarding the difficulty level of SLAT:

1. Subjective Perception: The difficulty of SLAT may vary from one candidate to another, depending on their individual strengths and weaknesses. Some candidates may find it relatively easier, while others may perceive it as moderately challenging.

2. Sections: SLAT typically consists of sections like Logical Reasoning, Legal Reasoning, Analytical Reasoning, Reading Comprehension, and General Knowledge. Each section may have varying levels of difficulty, with some being more challenging than others.

3. Competitive Nature: SLAT is a competitive entrance exam, and it is designed to assess candidates' aptitude for legal studies. Therefore, it includes questions that test logical and analytical reasoning, legal concepts, and reading comprehension.

4. Preparation Matters: The difficulty of SLAT can also depend on the level of preparation of the candidate. Those who have thoroughly prepared for the exam, including solving practice papers and taking mock tests, are likely to find it more manageable.

5. Time Management: Like many other entrance exams, SLAT places a premium on time management. Candidates need to answer a significant number of questions within a limited time frame, which can add to the perceived difficulty.

6. Previous Year Papers: To gauge the difficulty level more accurately, it's a good practice to review previous year's question papers and sample papers, which are often available on the official SLAT website.

In summary, while SLAT is not considered exceptionally difficult, it does require focused preparation, particularly in areas such as logical and legal reasoning. Candidates who have a strong grasp of these concepts and practice effectively are better equipped to perform well in the exam.

Q:   What is the difficulty level of the SLAT Reading Comprehension section?
A:

The difficulty level of the SLAT Reading Comprehension section is easy to moderate. If we look at the previous years’ question papers of the SLAT exam, it has been noticed that most questions in the section were asked to assess the understanding of candidates about the English language. These questions are based on articles from different newspapers. Candidates require knowledge of English Grammar and vocabulary. Thus, to solve the Reading Comprehension section, they need to have excellent knowledge of English Grammar and vocabulary.

Aditi, who was also appearing for SET General 2022 at the same test centre shared that the question paper was of moderate difficulty level. Moreover, the Analytical/ Quantitative Reasoning and General Knowledge sections were quite tricky and lengthy.

Radhika Bhargava, shared that the question paper of SLAT 2022 was easier as compared to CLAT 2022 question paper. There were some tricky questions in Analytical and Logical Reasoning sections, but if a candidate is prepared sufficiently, then he/ she could easily attempt these two sections.

Gauri shared that the question paper was okay, and better than CLAT 2022, which was unexpected and lengthy. The overall difficulty level of the SLAT 2022 question paper was moderate to easy including the GK section.

SIU will declare the results of SLAT 2022 by July 12. The exam authority does not publish the question paper and answer keys for SLAT exam. SLAT 2022 counselling is expected to begin from July 13 onwards. SIU will be publishing institute-wise merit list for SLAT 2022 based on the preferences marked by the candidates, and their scores in SLAT 2022. Candidates can check out SLAT 2022 cut-off for all participating colleges beforehand.
