TS LAWCET Seat Allotment 2026

The TS LAWCET is a state-wide exam conducted to select candidates for the 3-year and 5-year LLB courses. The TS LAWCET 2026 exam was held on May 18 and its results were released on June 4, 2026. TS LAWCET Counselling started on July 5, 2026. TS LAWCET Counselling Phase 2 is going on and the candidates will be allowed to edit their web options today.

TS LAWCET Counselling Process

The candidates who clear the TS LAWCET exam are called for counselling. Eligible candidates must fill the TS LAWCET Counselling registration form, followed by the web option. It includes choice-filling from the available seats. After considering various factors, the exam conducting body releases the seat allotment result. 

The TS LAWCET seat allotment result is not released in the public domain. The registered candidates can view their allotted seat by logging in with their HTNO, Mobile Number, and date of birth.

Q:   Is the syllabus for TSLAWCET and TSPGLCET same?
A: 

The TS LAWCET and TSPGLCET exams have different syllabuses because they are meant for different levels of law courses.

  • TS LAWCET is for admission into 3-year and 5-year LLB programs. Its syllabus includes:
    • General Knowledge and Mental Ability
    • Current Affairs
    • Aptitude for the Study of Law
  • TSPGLCET (Telangana State Post Graduate Law Common Entrance Test) is for admission into LLM courses. Its syllabus focuses on advanced legal subjects, such as:
    • Jurisprudence
    • Constitutional Law
    • Public International Law
    • Mercantile Law
    • Labour Law
    • Crimes and Torts
    • IPR and Other Laws

So, while both are law entrance exams conducted by Osmania University on behalf of TSCHE, their syllabuses are not the same.

TSLAWCET exam is held by Osmania University, Hyderabad, on behalf of Telangana State Council of Higher Education.

Q:   Who is eligible for TS LAWCET counselling?
A: 

To be eligible for TS LAWCET counselling, candidates belonging to the General category must have secured 35% marks in TS LAWCET exam (i.e. 42 marks out of 120 marks). The OBC category students must score atleast 35% marks in TS LAWCET exam (i.e. 42 marks out of 120 marks), and for the SC/ST category, there is no minimum qualifying marks for SC and ST category candidates. However, for the 3-year LL.B. course, any graduate degree candidate with (10+2+3 pattern) from a recognised University or its equivalent can apply and for the 5-year LL.B. course, two year Intermediate Examination with (10+2 pattern) or its equivalent is acceptable. 

TS LAWCET Phase 2 Dates

The TS LAWCET Phase 2 Counselling registration was available from August 19 to 22, and the web options were closed on August 25. The candidates can edit their web option today. The Phase 2 Seat Allotment Result 2026 will be prepared and released on August 29. These dates are summarised below in a tabular manner:

Factors Affecting TS LAWCET Seat Allotment

The TS LAWCET Seat Allotment depend on various factors and the exam conducting body needs to consider various reservation and quota claims made by the candidates. After satisfying all the conditions, the TS LAWCET Seat Allotment result is prepared. But it is not released in the public domain. Following are some of the factors which are considered in the Seat Allotment process:

Documents Required After TS LAWCET Seat Allotment

Candidates should carry their original documents and other required certificates while reporting to the college. Candidates are suggested to carry the following documents at the time of college reporting and verification of documents:

  • TS LAWCET 2026 hall ticket
  • TS LAWCET rank card or result
  • Provisional Seat allotment letter or acknowledgement
  • Marksheets and certificates of qualifying examinations
  • Transfer Certificate, if applicable
  • Category certificate, wherever applicable
  • Income certificate or other certificates required for reservation claims, if applicable
  • Tuition fee payment receipt
  • Any other document mentioned by the counselling authority or allotted college

The candidates must carry copies of the above documents because they will be submitted in the allotted college. 

If the seats remain vacant, the exam-conducting university will conduct the Phase 3 counselling and notify its dates on its portal.
