Highlights of ATMA Eligibility Criteria 2019

AIMS has issued a notification advising AIMS Test for Management Admissions (ATMA) aspirants to check ATMA eligibility criteria of the participating institutes and verify independently about the AICTE/ UGC/ AIU recognition of the programmes of the concerned institutes. Candidates need to fulfill the below mentioned ATMA eligibility criteria 2019 in order to meet the requirements to give this national level management entrance exam:

Should be an Indian Citizen: To meet ATMA eligibility criteria an aspirant should be a citizen of India. Candidates need to mandatorily meet this eligibility criteria for ATMA 2019 admissions.

Possess Recognised Bachelor’s Degree: Candidates meet the eligibility criteria for ATMA exam if they possess a graduation degree or have qualified an equivalent examination under 10+2+3 scheme from any stream – Humanities, Engineering, Commerce, Science etc, that is, BA, BTech, BCom and BSc. Apart from this, aspirants need to note that they would be eligible to apply for ATMA 2019 only if they have pursued their bachelor’s degree from a University that is duly recognised by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, Government of India.

Should have Secured Minimum 50% Marks: As per ATMA 2019 eligibility criteria candidates should have graduated from a recognised/ statutory University such that they have secured at least 50% aggregate marks at the graduation level or in an equivalent degree.

Final Year Graduation Students Meet ATMA Eligibility Criteria: Candidates who are pursuing the final year of graduation are also eligible to apply for and thereafter appear for ATMA 2019.

Age Limit for ATMA 2019

There is no age limit criteria that candidates need to fulfill in order to meet ATMA 2019 eligibility criteria. Apart from this, AIMS also does not list out the requirement for candidates to have any mandatory work experience if they want to apply for ATMA exam.  Both working and non-working candidates can apply for ATMA exam. 

Number of Attempts Allowed in ATMA 2019

ATMA exam is usually conducted 4-5 times in a given year. Candidates can apply for and give ATMA exam any number of times in a given year. There is no capping on the number of attempts for ATMA exam in one year. However, aspirants are informed that the score of the latest ATMA exam will only be considered for admission 2019.

ATMA Selection Criteria 2019

Candidates need to first appear for ATMA exam in order to be shortlisted for admission in the management courses offered at colleges that accept the national level exam scores for admission. Further, candidates who clear ATMA 2019 need to take part in ATMA counselling wherein they are allotted admission in the college as per their ATMA score.

The candidates who wish to seek admission through ATMA must keep their documents ready in order to complete the admission process.

ATMA 2019 Reservation Criteria

AIMS did not prescribe any reservation criteria for admission. The only benefit that reserved category candidates receive is that they are offered relaxation in the qualifying marks. Apart from this, aspirants are also offered relaxation in ATMA application fee on the basis of their reservation category. ATMA application fee concession is offered to women candidates as well as candidates belonging to the seven North Eastern state.

Yes, PUMBA accepts ATMA scores for MBA admissions. The ATMA cut off for PUMBA is usually high and ranges between 85 to 90 percentile.

Association of Indian Management Schools does not conduct a centralised counselling process for the ATMA exam. Each participating institute releases its ATMA cutoff and students who match it have to appear for GD/PI/WAT rounds.

JBIMS does not accept ATMA scores anymore for MMS admissions and it accepts CAT, MAH MBA CET, and GMAT scores. 

The ATMA cutoff for PUMBA is usually high and ranges between 95 to 99 percentile.

It is not compulsory but ideal to take the ATMA mock test for preparation. Students will know the type of questions, difficulty level, important topics, etc. through practising mock tests.

The total score in ATMA exam is 180 marks. There are 180 questions and each question carries one mark. There is a negative marking of -0.25 marks.
