The CAT examination body allows candidates to challenge the official answer key. They are published after a few days of the result announcement when the IIMs and other colleges start their shortlisting process. The CAT percentile of candidates shortlisted for the Written Ability Test (WAT), Group Discussion (GD), and Personal Interview (PI) can be considered the cut-off for that IIM. After the declaration of CAT results, IIMs and other top MBA colleges start the candidate shortlisting process. The institutes fix CAT cut offs category wise and invite applicants to appear for Written Ability Test, Group Discussion GD and Personal Interview PI rounds for MBA Admission. Calculating Score using CAT 2025 Response Sheet & Answer Key
Candidates can use response sheet, answer key and marking scheme top calculate their raw score in CAT exam. CAT exam has both negative and positive marking. CAT Marking Scheme 2025
To calculate CAT scores, IIM will use the following marking scheme:
- +3 marks for each correct response
- -1 mark for each incorrect response
- There is no negative marking for unattempted question.

How is CAT Percentile Score Calculated?
Check process to calculate CAT percentile score is as follows:
- Calculate number of test takers for CAT in all three slots. (can be denoted by N)
- Assign a rank based on scaled score (normalised score) to all CAT test takers. (rank can be denoted by r)
