Karnataka PGCET Claim Slip and Document Verification

The Claim Slip bridges the gap between registration and final admission reporting, establishing the verification workflow across distinct stages.

Verification Stages and Guidelines

  1. Online Pre-Verification: For regular Karnataka candidates (General Merit, SC, ST, OBC), separate physical attendance at KEA verification centres is not required before the seat allotment. The generation of the claim slip confirms online verification of the uploaded application data.
  2. Special Category Physical Verification: Candidates claiming reservation under special quotas, such as Ex-Servicemen and Defence, must present original supporting certificates in person at the KEA Office during the designated schedule. Candidates under specific conditions who did not appear for the document verification will be issued the claim slip, however, will be treated under open competition.
  3. Institutional Document Verification: The final physical verification of all original certificates is conducted by authorities at the allotted college before the final admissions.

Reservation and Domicile Eligibility Criteria

Reservation benefits under SC, ST, Category-1, and OBC categories are applicable strictly to candidates of Karnataka domicile. Non-Karnataka applicants are classified under General Merit and must possess a minimum aggregate of 50 per cent in their qualifying degree examinations (compared to 45 per cent for Karnataka SC/ST/Category-I candidates).

Candidates must ensure they have the following documents for admissions via PGCET counselling:

  • SSLC / 10th Standard Marks Card (Date of Birth verification)

The highest rank acceptable in 2025 was 16737 for the General AI category. So, students who have a rank below 16737 have a better chance of admission in the MBA/PGDM course. Students should know that the cutoff for other categories will vary.

Note: Cut- off data is an estimate and not official.

Qualifying Karnataka PGCET is compulsory for Karnataka domicile students to get admission in M.Arch in BMS School of Architecture. For others, it is not compulsory and they can get admission based on GATE score or through Management Quota.
