Candidates who will be appearing for the MAT exam on June 8, must know that the exam will be conducted as per guidelines to ensure no irregularity is reported. Any slip in the conduct by the candidate will lead to disqualification. It is not only important to follow the guidelines related to candidate identification and entry, but also the guidelines related to test form. The MAT exam is conducted for 120 minutes in which candidates have to solve atleast 90-100 questions out of 150. There is negative marking too, so you need to be very careful in not missing or misunderstanding any instruction.
So ahead of MAT 2025 exam day, check below some important MAT 2025 exam day guidelines and dos and don’ts that will prevent any unnecessary hassle at the test centre. Candidates must know the important guideline to follow on the MAT exam day.
MAT Exam Day Guidelines - Dos
- Reporting time will be given to every student to ensure identification process is completed without rush and crowding. Reach the MAT exam centre at the reporting time mentioned on the MAT 2025 admit card.
- Carry a colour print out of your MAT 2025 admit card, and original copy of the photo ID. The MAT admit card can be downloaded from AIMA MAT website until the exam day. However, it is advised that candidates download their admit cards as soon as they are released to check errors and rectification of the same in time.
- It is mandatory for all MAT test takers to carry a valid photo identification proof. Check below the list of documents that considered as valid photo id proof for the test day.
- Passport
- Voter ID card
- Aadhaar card
- PAN card
- Driving license
- Employer ID card
- College ID card
- At the entry gate, the MAT staff will check MAT admit card and photo ID. Candidates will be frisked for security purpose. They should co-operate with the test centre staff for in this prcess.
- No personal belongings including bags, mobile phones, watches, books, wallets, electronic gadgets, notebooks, etc. will be allowed inside the exam centre. So, carry only what is needed.
- Candidates need to carry only a blue ballpoint pen as stationary for signing the attendance sheet. For PBT mode, they must carry two pens to fill the OMR sheet.
- Complete the test on time. MAT is of 120 minutes without sectional time limit. So divide time for all 5 sections accordingly in order to not miss out on any section.

- After security frisking, the invigilator will sign the MAT 2025 admit card of each test taker. No test taker should sign on their admit card before this process.
- Candidates should avoid any kind of unfair practices inside the exam centre. In case, any candidate is found breaking the code of conduct, they will be strictly penalized.
- Carrying rough sheet/sheets inside the exam hall is strictly prohibited. Sheets for rough work will be provided inside the test lab.
- Do not carry electronic items such as phones, watches, bluetooth device, ear phones, pager, ipad, etc.
- For PBT mode exam, students will be provided OMR sheets to answer all the questions. Candidates have to mark the correct option in the given field only.
- Do not create problems for the staff at the time of identification and frisking. Cooperate with them. You may be barred from the exam for unruly behavior.
- Do not disturb other candidates or peep into their computer systems/OMR sheet. You will be disqualified for that.
- Do not insist on leaving the test lab before time. Invigilator will announce the exit process and candidates are supposed to leave the test hall only after that and as per the sequence.
- Drop the rough sheet in the box before leaving the test lab.
