I have done my schooling from Hirabhai Kanya Vidhyalaya, Gandhinagar. I was a ranker in my school till class 10th. Then I joined Sardar Vallabhbhai Mahavidhyalaya for Bachelor’s degree. In BCom, I got 70% in the last semester. When I was in school I had decided to do MBA. It was my dream to become an MBA with good managerial and interpersonal skills and also both my sisters have done MBA so they always motivated me to do it.
Following this decision, I started searching for an appropriate institution that could understand my needs. Then I found Oakbrook Business School on the Internet. I immediately visited it and instantly decided to join this college. I was absolutely baffled by the infrastructure and the campus premises spread across a 2-and-a-half-acre area. Oakbrook Business School is affiliated to Gujarat Technological University (GTU) and approved by AICTE. Now I’m in 4th semester of MBA Marketing. I have chosen Marketing as a specialisation because I believe that there are so many opportunities prevailing in this field. Now at this stage of my course I feel that I have chosen the right option for my career and this will provide me a good platform to show my skills and ability.

How I cracked college admission
I gave CMAT to get admission in MBA. For my preparation, I joined a private institute named Endeavour, which provides guidance to excel in such kinds of tests. The fees for such course was Rs 20,000. There were generally guidelines for Math, Reasoning, General Knowledge and Vocabulary. By the help of the course I was able to score 80 marks out of 400 in CMAT examination. I got admission in Oakbrook Business School because I had scored more than 50 marks in CMAT test and more than 50% in graduation. The college has a criterion that only students with 50% or above in graduation, can get admission. And fortunately, I have 50% in my graduation so I enrolled in Oakbrook Business School.
Earlier, I was trying to get admission in SAL institute, I had searched its website, campus and also talked to some of my friends who have experience over there, but then I didn’t enroll there. I also searched for Indus University. But fortunately, somehow, I found Oakbrook Business School and got admission there. I believe that this is the best college for me, and I’m proud of my decision.
How I made the most of my college years
A standout amongst the most captivating things I found about my college is how adequately it maintains a harmony among scholastics and co-curricular activities for the students. Consistently, Oakbrook organizes events like Conclaves, Seminars, Industrial Visits, Cultural Fests to give students the needed chance to show their skills and administrative ability. College incorporates marks for student participation in their internal assessment, thus encouraging students to take active part in extra-curricular activities as well. This helps us to have an all-encompassing development which will be beneficial in our lives later.
College appreciates our endeavours and congratulates us which gives us inspiration to take part in more such occasions.
Personally speaking, I participated in many events. I hosted the 3rd Orientation Program, 3rd Marketing Conclave and I also participated in singing and dancing competition on Annual Day and stood 1st in singing competition. I also participated in the dance program on Independence Day. I stood first in financial quiz at Financial conclave of our college. I have actively volunteered for most of the events held at our campus. This exposure would help me in my personal as well as my professional life. Recently I went for the ‘Best Summer Internship Project Competition’ held at National Institute of Cooperative Management and won 2nd prize for which my faculty members have helped me in every manner. Even Director of the college always helps us in our academic as well as other co-curricular activities. We can take advice from her at any time, there is no constraint of level or position in our college.
