NMAT Normalization Scores & Other Scores

The scorecard of candidates are prepared based on the normalized marks. NMAT by GMAC publishes the scaled score of candidates (normalized score) initially and later on this is converted to percentile score. Find below detailed format of different levels of NMAT scores.

  1. The first score level is the NMAT scaled scores/NMAT normalized scores. It is arrived by taking all the test forms into equation and comparing the overall difficulty. Based on it, raw test scores are placed on a common scale. NMAT normalization process is opted to ensure that scores are comparable across test forms or the NMAT question paper and doing this ensures test score of any candidate is not adversely impacted because they received different test forms.
  2. The second level of score is the final percentile in NMAT exam. This is published by GMAC at the end of the testing sessions when all the candidates have completed their NMAT by GMAC exam.
  3. The third type of score is the NMAT historical percentile score that reflects a candidate's performance by comparing his/her performance with other candidates appearing for NMAT by GMAC in the previous year.

After NMAT result declaration, GMAC publishes admission cut-offs. Based on the NMAT cut-off score, candidates qualify for NMAT by GMAC selection process. The selection process consists of two rounds that are - Personal Interview and Case Discussion.

Yes, candidates must refer to at least two books for each section while preparing for the NMAT exam. It is highly recommended to use the official GMAC guide along with other standard competitive exam preparation books.

Based on test-taker feedback, the NMAT exam is moderate to tough. It focuses heavily on speed, accuracy, and basic conceptual understanding. Almost all candidates find the NMAT exam easier than CAT, and its difficulty is comparable to SNAP

Yes, candidates can prepare for NMAY exam in one month by planning a focused approach. Practice the free NMAT question paper, analyse your weak areas, and divide your time to cover one section per week, leaving the final week for revision

Divide your six months into three focused phases. Allot three months to thoroughly cover the NMAT syllabus. Dedicate two months to practice a minimum of 30 mock tests, and use the final month to revise formulas and concepts
