When will the NID Studio Test conducted for the B. Des programme?

The National Institute of Design (NID) will conduct the Studio Test for the B. Des program in April 2026. The Studio Test will be conducted offline. Note that B. Des candidates are not required to appear in any interview, unlike the M.Des applicants. Admit cards for the Studio Test will be released a few days in advance. On the day of the Studio Test, the candidate had to report at the exam center with the admit card and a valid photo id proof. The Studio Test (or that Mains) is the 2nd stage of the two-stage NID that admission process. The final results of NID DAT 2026 is prepared by considering the performance of the candidate in DAT Mains and DAT Prelims.

When will NID DAT 2026 (Prelims) result be announced for M.Des?

NID DAT Prelims results for the M.Des program were announced on February 12, 2026. The result can be checked online at admissions.nid.edu. Note that DAT Prelims result was released for all candidates who appeared in the exam. The candidate can check DAT Prelims result by logging into the result portal using their email ID and date of birth. The scores of the DAT Prelims exam will be used to shortlist candidates for DAT Mains. The National Institute of Design will release the M.Des DAT Mains exam after the prelims results are declared.

When will the NID DAT 2026 counseling be conducted for B.Des?

The NID DAT 2026 counseling process for the B.Des process will START in the third week of May 2026. Candidates who are allotted seats have to pay the seat-confirmation fees and upload documents. Seats that are left vacant after completion of the 1st round of allotment will be allocated in Round 2. Allotments will be made to the candidate next in the order of merit. Also, the candidate will be notified about seat allotted in a Round via their registered email IDs. So, it is recommended that the candidate keeps checking their mail IDs frequently.

Will separate results be released after re-check of NID DAT 2026 (Prelims) results?

The re-check window for the DAT Prelims will open soon after the results are out. The candidate have to apply for re-check online. If, after the re-check, it is found that there are totalling errors or some answers have not been marked, the correction is made. In that case, the candidate was issued a new scorecard. The candidate had to download the new scorecard online from the download portal.

Will the NID DAT 2026 (Prelims) recheck for M.Des cover whether an answer is correct or wrong?

If the candidate had any objections against the DAT Prelims results, they could ask for a recheck. The NID DAT (Prelims) recheck for the M.Des programme covered the following items: Whether all answers have been marked Whether there has been any mistakes in totalling the marks in Part II and transferring the marks to the 1st cover page of the answer booklet. The rechecking didn't evaluate any other part of the answer booklet. Also, the candidate is not allowed to claim re-evaluation, disclosure, or inspection of the answer scripts.
