IIT Gandhinagar’s "Hack the Future" Hackathon, organised by NSO India concluded, inspiring next-generation innovators to develop cutting-edge solutions.

IIT Gandhinagar Hosts "Hack the Future" Hackathon

NSO India, in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Technology Gandhinagar (IITGN) concluded its 36-hour "Hack the Future" hackathon at the IITGN campus. The competition recognised top innovations across three categories, with Plaksha University, Chandigarh securing first place in two categories and Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Petroleum Technology claiming the top spot in the third. IIT Jammu, VIT Vellore, and NIT Goa earned second place in their respective categories, while NMIMS Mumbai, IIIT Vadodara, and IIT Kharagpur secured third place.

The "Hack the Future" hackathon brought together 18 teams from premier academic institutions across India, including IITs, NITs, and IIITs. Participants took on three innovative challenges, receiving mentorship from experts from the Ministry and IIT Gandhinagar. A distinguished panel of five jury members, comprising industry leaders, academicians, and Ministry representatives, evaluated the final solutions.

The valedictory session was graced by Dr. Saurabh Garg, Secretary, MoSPI & Head NSO; P.R. Meshram, Director General, NSO India; and Dr. Rajat Moona, Director, IIT Gandhinagar. Addressing the participants, Shri P.R. Meshram congratulated them and emphasized that the hackathon is an extension of the Ministry’s ongoing modernization efforts. Dr. Moona encouraged participants to continue exploring data science and statistics, leveraging the rich datasets provided by MoSPI, and praised the Ministry for its forward-thinking initiatives.

Dr. Garg commended the nationwide participation and congratulated all finalist teams. He encouraged participants to pursue further innovation in data science and statistics, emphasizing their potential to drive impactful contributions to nation-building.
