NIT Calicut to Award 1,978 Degrees at 20th Convocation on September 7

The 20th convocation of the NIT Calicut is scheduled for September 7 on campus. During the ceremony, 1,978 degrees will be conferred upon students across a range of programmes.
NIT Calicut Convocation 2024: The 20th convocation of the National Institute of Technology-Calicut (NIT-C) will be organised on the campus at 4 PM on September 7 (Saturday). George Kurian, Minister of State for Minority Affairs, Fishing, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries, will deliver the convocation address as the chief guest. Prasad Krishna, Chairperson of the Board of Governors and Director of NIT-C will preside over the event.
1,978 degrees To Be Conferred at NIT Calicut Convocation 2024
During the ceremony, a record total of 1,978 degrees will be awarded across various programs and specialisations. This includes 1,169 BTech, 57 BArch, 23 MPlan, 442 MTech, 56 MCA, 94 MSc, 44 MBA, and 93 PhD degrees. According to a press release released by NIT Calicut, this marks the highest number of degrees conferred in the institute's history.
Milind Lakkad, an NIT-C alumnus and Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at Tata Consultancy Services, will serve as the guest of honor. Mr. Krishna will also present the annual report. The convocation ceremony will be conducted by NIT-C Registrar Cdr. Dr. M.S. Shamasundara, Dean (Academic) Prof. A.V. Babu, and the heads of departments.
