The minimum passing marks for the Film and Television Institute of India Joint Entrance Test varies, however, the minimum final cut-off marks to qualify for admission in FTII are as follows.

The institute offers the following scholarships based on merit and performance credits during the students' time there. 

1. Entrance Exam Merit - Given to toppers in each of the film wing courses; INR 12,500 per year. 
2. 1st Semester Merit - Given to the first 3 toppers; Common Module (Editing, Sound Recording & Sound Design, Art Direction & Production Design and Screenplay Writing); 1st topper get INR 24,000, 2nd gets INR 21,500 and the 3rd gets INR 19,000 every year
3. Given to acting topper; INR 24,000 / year
4. Given to screenplay writing topper; INR 24,000 / year
5. 2nd to 5th Semester Merit - Given to the 1st and 2nd topper of each course; INR 13,500 and INR 11,500 respectively.

No, a candidate cannot fill FTII JET application form offline. The Film and Television Institute of India releases JET registration form in online mode and candidates have to fill and submit the same in online form only. No offline application form will be accepted by FTII for entrance exam.

FTII JET is conducted annually or once a year in 28 cities across the country.

Film and Television Insititute of India has released the FTII JET application form 2026. The registration window opened on March 11, 2026. Candidates can apply for the exam till April 07, 2026.

It is possible to crack Stage 1 of FTII JET exam through self-study as it is a written exam. However, cracking FTII JET stage 2 exam with self-study is not possible. The difficulty level of FTII JET is moderate as compared to other government entrance exams for admission to mass communication and media courses. The Film and Television of Institute of India Joint Entrance Test (FTII JET) is conducted in offline i.e. pen and paper mode. The question and answer booklet will be distributed to the candidate at least 10 minutes before the commencement of exam. The question paper will be MCQ-based and candidates will have to mark the correct option in the answer booklet.

The FTII JET Stage 1 exam has two papers. Paper 1 includes multiple choice question and paper 2 includes descriptive questions. In second part of FTII JET Satge 1 question paper, candidates will have to answer questions in short notes and describe the given sketches and photographs.

Yes, you can take FTII JET in Hindi. The questions that appear on FTII JET papers are presented in both Hindi and English. Examinees can pick either one. The institutes strictly asks the students not switch between the two while taking the test. Once you've answered a question in Hindi, you have to attempt all the questions in Hindi.

FTII JET is conducted offline (pen & paper based test). 

There is no ideal time for candidates to prepare for FTII JET exam. As there are two stages in exam which are conducted in different months and have different criteria, their required preparation time are different.

For stage 1, students must start preparing for written test, at least 6 months before D-day. As Stage 2 is practical exam, there is no time limit for its preparation.

You might already know that you have to carry your admit card to the FTII JET exam centre. You can take two copies just to be safe. As far as the minimum passing marks of FTII JET varies, the minimum final cut-off marks to qualify for admission in FTII for General Category is 50% for General category while that for OBC NCL category is 45%.

No, FTII does not offer undergraduate degree courses. They only offer postgraduate Diploma and certificate courses under their film wing and television wing. However, they do have one Undergraduate Certificate course in Animation & Visual Effects Design.

It is a bit tough to crack the FTII JET exam because FTII is the premier film making school in India and aspirants from all over India apply for this coveted exam making the competition a bit tough.
