The minimum passing marks for the Film and Television Institute of India Joint Entrance Test varies, however, the minimum final cut-off marks to qualify for admission in FTII are: i) 50% for General category. ii) 45% for OBC NCL category. iii) 40% for SC/ST category.

The FTII JET stands for the Film and Television Institute of India Joint Entrance Examination. FTII JET is conducted annually or once a year in 28 cities across the country. 

FTII JET is conducted by the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune and Satyajit Ray Film and Television Institute, Kolkata. The test paper for this annual entrance examination can be set by either of these institutes.

No, there is no such provision for re-evaluation provided by the exam conducting authority for the FTII JET result. As per the official notification, candidates seeking admission into FTII, Pune and SRFTI, Kolkata will have to go through the following process:

Step 1: JET Entrance Exam

The first step is the FTII JET exam for which candidates will have to appear in it after receiving their admit cards and qualify it. The written test will be conducted for 2 papers and the time duration will be of three hours. The test will be conducted in offline (pen and paper test) mode. The question paper will be into two parts – MCQ (multiple-choice questions) and Descriptive. 

Step 2: Audition (for screen Acting) Orientation and Interview

Candidates qualifying in the written test will be further shortlisted for Audition (only for Screen Acting), Orientation and Interview. 

Step 3: Result declaration

(For all other courses except Screen Acting) final joint merit list of FTII & SRFTI will be published. For screen acting, the performance of audition will also be analysed.

After joint merit lists, preferences will be obtained from the shortlisted candidates. They will be selected to a particular course in FTII & SRFTI. Counselling may be carried-out offline in Pune/Mumbai/ Kolkata or online.

Step 4: Undergo the medical test

Selected candidates will be required to undergo Medical Test as per the selection criteria of both institutes.

To fill the application form of the Film and Television Institute of India Joint Entrance Test (FTII JET) examination. Candidates must be minimum 21 years of age. The minimum educational qualification required for candidates to apply for the FTII JET examination is graudation in any discipline. However, for candidates who want to apply for Art Direction and Production Design course they will have to have a Bachelor’s Degree in Applied Arts, Architecture, Painting, Sculpture, Interior Design or related fields in Fine Arts.

For sound engineering, candidate's need to have a Bachelor’s degree in any discipline with Physics as a subject at senior secondary (10+2) level also they will have to qualify in the written examination of the Joint Entrance Test (JET) of 3 hours duration for 100 marks, conducted at examination centres around the country.

You might already know that you have to carry your admit card to the FTII JET exam centre. You can take two copies just to be safe. Once the application form is submitted, the candidate cannot change the exam center at any stage. The change of examination center will be entirely at the discretion of the exam conducting authority and the candidates will be liable to follow the instructions.

As per the admission process of JET exam, candidates first need to quaify in teh FTII JETe exam and subsequent rounds of the Orientation / Interview process. On the basis of performance in JET, the list of candidates shortlisted for the next level of selection will be made available on the website of the Institute. No, candidates must take a printout of FTII JET admit card with a valid photo ID. Those who fail to do so will not be allowed to take FTII JET entrance test.

The FTII JET Stage 1 exam has two papers. Paper 1 includes multiple choice question and paper 2 includes descriptive questions. In second part of FTII JET Satge 1 question paper, candidates will have to answer questions in short notes and describe the given sketches and photographs.

Yes, you can take FTII JET in Hindi. The questions that appear on FTII JET papers are presented in both Hindi and English. Examinees can pick either one. The institutes strictly asks the students not switch between the two while taking the test. Once you've answered a question in Hindi, you have to attempt all the questions in Hindi.
