What is FTII JET?
FTII JET is conducted annually in centres across the country. It is conducted for admission to postgraduate, and postgraduate diploma and certificate courses at one of the most renowned film and TV institute in the country - Film and Television Institute of India (FTII), Pune. There are two wings under FTII offering a total of 11 courses - Film Wing and TV Wing.

The process to fill and submit FTII JET application form includes following steps:

- Click on New Registration and create a login ID.

The Film and Television Institute of India lays down the age limit for admission to offered courses through FTII JET entrance exam in its admission prospectus. An 18 year old student is not eligible to apply for FTII JET exam. The minimum age requirement for the exam is 21 years.
It is possible to crack Stage 1 of FTII JET exam through self-study as it is a written exam. However, cracking FTII JET stage 2 exam with self-study is not possible. The FTII JET Result 1 is prepared based on the candidate’s performance in the written examination and auditions, which carry a weightage of 30%.

The FTII JET cut off is defined based on various factors such as the exam's difficulty level, total number of applicants who appeared in the exam and the shifts under which the exam is conducted. Candidates who score equal to or more than the FTII JET cut off will qualify in the exam. As far as the minimum passing marks of FTII JET varies, the minimum final cut-off marks to qualify for admission in FTII for General Category is 50% for General category while that for OBC NCL category is 45%.
Candidates who qualify in the Film and Television Institute of India Joint Entrance Test will be called for the orientation and interview process or audition round (for screen acting). Candidates will be shortlisted for the second round based on the scores secured in the entrance test. After that the final result will be released. As per the official notification released by the exam conducting authority, Film and Television Institute of India each question paper will be of 100 marks. 50 marks for descriptive type questions and 50 marks for MCQs. The time duration of the FTII JET exam question paper will be 3 hours.
The FTII JET exam total marks are 100 marks. In Part A of Paper I: one mark is awarded to each right question and 0.25 is deducted on the wrong answer. In Part B of Paper I: two marks are awarded to each right question. However, the questions may have one or more right answers, so candidates need to select all the correct options, failing which they will be given partial marks. This part also has the provision of negative marking.
The FTII JET Stage 1 exam has two papers. Paper 1 includes multiple choice question and paper 2 includes descriptive questions. In second part of FTII JET Satge 1 question paper, candidates will have to answer questions in short notes and describe the given sketches and photographs.
After the FTII JET result is declared, candidates who qualified in the test will be called for the further rounds of selection which is interview or audition depending upon which course they have applied for. There will no seperate admit card be released for the interview or the audition round hence candidates are advised to keep their written test admit card safe.

Yes, candidates can register for the FTII JET first and submit the application form later. However, they must submit their FTII JET application form before the last date.
The Film and Television Institute of India will release the FTII JET 2026 result for Stage 1 on its official website's Announcement Page. The expected date for release of category- wise merit list is May/June 2026.
