NEET PG 2024 Supreme Court Hearing Deferred to October 4; Know Details

NEET PG 2024 supreme court hearing has been postponed to October 4 owing to last-minute changes in the exam pattern and other irregularities in the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test.
NEET PG 2024 News: The Supreme Court has adjourned the NEET PG hearing owing to last-minute changes in the exam pattern. Now, the Apex Court will hear a plea related to NEET PG on October 4, 2024, expected. The plea, filed by Ishika Jain and other candidates, seeks the court to interfere in the regulations set by the National Board of Education for Medical Sciences (NBEMS). Along with that, the disclosure of answer keys, question papers and response sheets is also a major concern of students. Besides, the normalisation process conducted to score is also questionable for students.
NEET PG aspirants' lawyers senior advocate Vibha Datta Makhija and Advocate Tanvi Dubey urge the Supreme Court to question NBE over last-minute changes to the exam pattern. “There needs to be a standardised approach,” Makhija highlighted that there were no regularities in how exams were conducted. “Everything was dependent on a single information bulletin which could be modified at the whims and fancies of the authorities.” as reported by Indian Express.
This postponement surfaced as representatives from the Union of India were absent from the previous hearing. With the adjournment of the Supreme Court hearing, it is expected that the NEET PG counselling schedule will be announced anytime soon. The NEET PG exam 2024, conducted for admission to MD, MS, Diploma and DNB courses is expected by students. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has notified that the counselling schedule will be announced soon on the official website mcc.nic.in.
