AIIMS Nursing BSc (Post Basic) Exam Pattern 2026

AIIMS Nursing 2026 BSc (Post Basic) exam candidates have to follow a two-stage selection process. The two stages are:

Stage 1: Written examination, and

Stage 2: Personal Interview/Assessment

AIIMS offers two undergraduate-level nursing courses under its hood. Both courses follow different exam patterns. The AIIMS nursing 2026 exam pattern for various BSc programmes is mentioned below: 

AIIMS BSc nursing 2026 exam preparation for the academic year 2026-27 attempt should ideally begin by now. In order to prepare for the exam, keep the following pointers in mind: 

1. Understand the exam pattern as the first and foremost step to begin the preparation

2. Know the syllabus so that you are aware of what to prepare for the exam

3. Keep making notes of the concepts while learning them

4. Attempt a chapter-wise practice test to know how much you have learned about it

5. Appear for mock tests after completing 80 per cent syllabus

6. Identify your strengths and weaknesses and start working on them simultaneously

7. Revise the previous five-year papers at least to gauge the difficulty level of the exam

These were some practical tips to approach the exam with full preparation. 

Candidates who will be able to make it to the merit list based on the written exam will be called for the personal interview/assessment round. The second stage will have a weightage of 30 marks. The final merit list will decide the fate of the candidate based on their performance in both stages. Almost three times more candidates will be invited for the interview than the actual number of available seats. The assessment process will count the following criteria

• Past academic record in the Higher Secondary or 12th or equivalent examination
• Past academic record in the Nursing examination
• Performance as a Staff Nurse
