AIIMS Nursing 2026 Syllabus: The All India Institute of Medical Science conduct the BSc Nursing (honours) exam at the designated exam centres. The AIIMS mention all the information about the AIIMS BSc Nursing in the information brochure. The AIIMS Nursing Syllabus serve as the first information about the AIIMS Nursing preparation. The AIIMS Nursing 2026 syllabus is the bedrock of the exam preparation. The candidates should read, understand and internalise all the topics of syllabus because it can ensure the selection of the candidate in the final exam. All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, does not release any official syllabus for the aspirants. Yet the guidelines indicate that candidates must prepare for the exam based on the Class 11 and Class 12 syllabi. This year, AIIMS BSc Nursing (Hons.) and BSc (Post Basic) entrance exams will be conducted on June 28, 2026 and June 14, 2026 respectively.

There is no official intimation about the change in the AIIMS Nursing 2026 exam pattern yet. Until last year, there was no change in the exam pattern. AIIMS New Delhi conducts the national-level entrance exam to facilitate admission into the BSc Nursing and Post Basic BSc Nursing. The eligibility criteria and the pattern of both exams are different.

There are four sections in AIIMS BSc nursing exam named Physics, Chemistry, Biology, and General Knowledge. There will be 70 questions overall for which candidates will be provided 120 minutes to solve the paper. It will be an online exam carrying objective-type questions.

The entrance exam is generally conducted in the month of May every year. The conducting body uses a two-stage method for registration to the BSc nursing programme. The first is through the PAAR (Prospective Applicants Advanced Registration) system, a new AIIMS method. The second is through basic registration, followed by the Generation of Code and Final Registration.

AIIMS BSc nursing syllabus is not shared in the AIIMS official prospectus dedicated to nursing programme. Candidates will not get any specific download related to the AIIMS nursing syllabus from the official website, bsccourses.aiimsexams.ac.in even. The exam conducting body, AIIMS Delhi, urges the candidate to thoroughly prepare for the entrance exam from Class 11 and Class 12 syllabus.  

Q:   What will be the duration of the AIIMS Nursing 2026 exam? Will extra time be granted?
A: 

AIIMS Delhi allots a 2-hour duration for solving the BSc nursing exam. No extra time will be extended to attempt the paper. It is an online exam, and the exam will be submitted as the 120-minute timer concludes.

AIIMS BSc nursing 2026 exam preparation for the academic year 2026-27 attempt should ideally begin by now. In order to prepare for the exam, keep the following pointers in mind: 

1. Understand the exam pattern as the first and foremost step to begin the preparation

2. Know the syllabus so that you are aware of what to prepare for the exam

3. Keep making notes of the concepts while learning them

4. Attempt a chapter-wise practice test to know how much you have learned about it

5. Appear for mock tests after completing 80 per cent syllabus

6. Identify your strengths and weaknesses and start working on them simultaneously

7. Revise the previous five-year papers at least to gauge the difficulty level of the exam

AIIMS Nursing 2026: Personal Interview/Assessment Scheme

Candidates who will be able to make it to the merit list based on the written exam will be called for the personal interview/assessment round. The second stage will have a weightage of 30 marks. The final merit list will decide the fate of the candidate based on their performance in both stages. Almost three times more candidates will be invited for the interview than the actual number of available seats. The assessment process will count the following criteria

  • Past academic record in the Higher Secondary or 12th or equivalent examination
  • Past academic record in the Nursing examination
  • Performance as a Staff Nurse
