AFCAT exam analysis 2020

Indian Air Force is conducting AFCAT (2) 2020 exam on October 3, 4 and 5 in two shifts. In view of COVID-19, this year the exam is conducted in three days. Social distancing measures were implemented at the exam centre. Adequate measures were taken for safety of candidates. Before entering the examination hall, candidates were asked to show the self-declaration. Candidates had to put on their mask throughout the exam process. The body temperature of candidates were checked through thermo gun. There were no physical frisking at the exam centre. Candidates had to sanitiser their hands before entering the exam hall. On completion of the shift, candidates were asked to move out in an ordering manner.

AFCAT is conducted for all the candidates. However, candidates who opted for Ground Duty (Technical) branch had to appear in both AFCAT and Engineering Knowledge Test (EKT). The online test of AFCAT 2020 comprises General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability, Military Reasoning and Aptitude test. EKT comprises questions from Mechanical, Computer Science and Electrical & Electronics. Total marks allotted to AFCAT are 300 while EKT carries 150 marks.

Shiksha visited one of the AFCAT exam centres 2020 in South Delhi to gather the feedback of candidates regarding the difficulty level and precautions taken due to COVID-19.

AFCAT (2) 2020 Student Reaction and Review: Difficulty Level

Most of the students Shiksha spoke with shared that the difficulty level of AFCAT (2) 2020 was moderate. Check out the complete AFCAT exam analysis by students below.

Shashank Dhawan, who also preparing for SSC exams, said, "The paper was not tough. The paper was a well-balanced paper. Mostly all the topics from the syllabus were covered."

Shivani said, "According to me the paper was good. It was quite easy and I could easily attempt questions. Questions in Reasoning section were quite easy. I found this section to be easy because it is my core subject."

Shivam Singh said, "The Quant section was tough but GS was quite easy. English section was also easy. The overall difficulty level of the paper was moderate."

Tripti Mathur said, "The paper was moderate. Questions were asked from GK, Mathematics, Reasoning. All topics given in AFCAT syllabus were covered. Some questions were tough, otherwise the paper was good."

AFCAT (2) 2020 Student Reaction and Review: COVID-19 Experience

While talking regarding the precautions taken due to COVID-19, students shared that proper arrangements were made for sanitisation. Check below AFCAT (2) 2020 student reaction with respect to COVID-19.

Shivam Kumar said, “Before we were given entry, the officials checked the self-declaration form. We had to put our mask throughout the exam. We had to maintain a distance of six feet. No eatables were permitted inside the exam centre.”

Anup Singh said, “I am satisfied with the arrangements made due to COVID-19. There were no physical frisking. We were asked to wash and sanitise our hands.”

AFCAT 1 2026 expected cut off will range between 135–145 marks. The expected cut off is decided based on the difficulty level.

AFCAT 1 cut off 2026 will be released in March. It is common across all categories. Candidates need to secure the required cut off to qualify the exam. It is decided based on the exam difficulty level.
