Study the AFCAT exam pattern in detail  

A candidate is advised to study the exam pattern and marking scheme thoroughly before commencing with the exam preparation. Candidates should also have a knowledge of the subjects and topics involved in the exam syllabus and what will exactly be the nature of AFCAT question paper.

Take a look at PYPs/Mocks and previous year AFCAT Cut Offs

It is important to study and understand the exam cut offs. As this will give candidates an understanding as to what score to obtain in order to crack the exam and make it to the final recruitment process.

All the exam toppers have always suggested to practice PYPs and mocks in order to score well in the examination. This will help to anaylise the time taken to solve the question paper and the type of questions that appear in the exam.

Design a study plan

Strategising a study plan is very important while preparing for a government exam. Enlisted below are a couple of things to note down while preparing for AFCAT exam.

What are the topics you are well versed with?

What are the topics where you require practice?

What are the topics where you can perform average?

Once you are sorted with these questions and have three different list of topics under these categories, you can plan and study accordingly. Start with the weak areas and slowly move towards the well versed areas of study. Figure out the time required to study basis your analysis.

AFCAT 2 2025 result was announced on September 16, 2025. The result was announced on the official website. However, we have provided the direct link to check the result on this page. Candidates qualifying the online test are called for AFSB interview.

AFCAT question paper is framed in English. The test paper carries questions from General Awareness, Verbal Ability in English, Numerical Ability and Reasoning and Military Aptitude Test. Total marks allotted to the test are 300.

There is a medical test in the AFCAT selection process. The medical test is conducted at the time of AFSB Interview. It is one of the most important factors in the selection process of AFCAT. Candidates not clearing the medical test are rejected from further processes.

AFCAT official answer key is released by the examination authority. However, the unofficial answer keys are released by the coaching institutes. Candidates can use the unofficial answer keys till the time the official answer keys are not released.

AFCAT 1 notification 2026 will be released in December 2025. AFCAT 2 notification will be released in May 2026. The notification will be released in PDF form and comprises the important details related to the exam. Candidates must check the notification before applying for the exam.
