Staff Selection Commission (SSC) is conducting SSC CPO Tier 1 exam on June 27, 28 and 29, 2024. The exam is being conducted in three shifts. SSC CPO exam is a national-level test conducted by SSC to select eligible candidates for the post of Sub-Inspector (SI) in Delhi Police and Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs). SSC CPO exam pattern is such that it is divided into Paper 1, Physical Standard Test (PST)/ Physical Endurance Test (PET), Paper 2, and Detailed Medical Examination (DME). Knowing the SSC CPO shift timings help candidates to reach the exam centre on time. Candidates need to appear for exam per the timings mentioned in the SSC CPO admit card. SSC CPO Exam Pattern 2024
SSC CPO exam pattern for Paper 1 is such that it comprises four sections-General Intelligence and Reasoning, General Knowledge and General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude and English Comprehension. The test paper carries a total of 200 questions. The total marks allotted to the test are 200. The test paper will be set in Hindi and English. The structure of SSC CPO Paper 1 is given below.

There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper 1 and 2. For the correct answer, candidates score one mark. The scores of candidates are normalised to prepare the SSC CPO result
The training syllabi for induction courses are confined to training institutions. The duration of training is usually of six to nine months. Indoor training involves imparting knowledge on various subjects under the law, police science, police rules, practical work, criminology, cybercrime and terrorism, human behavior, etc. The outdoor module trains the officers in several fields- physical exercise and drills, vehicle driving, handling of arms and weapons, and practice firing. Special emphasis is given to fitness and unarmed combat. Candidates selected through SSC CPO exam are appointed to the post of Sub Inspector with either the Delhi Police, the CAPF or as Assistant Sub Inspector in CISF. The CAPF is a Paramilitary force also known as the Central Armed Police Forces. It is not directly a wing of the Military and it comes under the Home Ministry.

- BSF (Border Security Force)
- Protecting the border between India & Pakistan
- Promoting the sense of security in the citizens of India
- Prevent crimes across the border and illegal refugees
- CRPF (Central Reserve Police Force)
- Responsible for controlling riots & Naxalites.
- ITBP (Indo-Tibetan Border Police)
- Protecting the border between India & China (from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh)
- Providing security at northern borders that are close to Pakistan and China
- Preventing the violation of border
- Preventing smuggling, anti-national activities and illegal immigration across the border.
- SSB (Seema Suraksha Bal)
- Protecting Indo – Nepal and Indo – Bhutan borders
- Preventing cross-border crimes, smuggling, and other anti-national activities
- CISF (Central Industrial Security Force)
- Providing security to various government establishments, PSU and other state-owned infrastructures
Sub Inspector of Delhi Police: Delhi Police Sub-inspector is responsible for maintaining law and order.
Border Security Force
- Protects the border between India & Pakistan.
- Promotes a sense of security among the citizens.
- Prevents trans-border crimes and assists in the control of refugees
Central Reserve Police Force
- CRPF is responsible for controlling riots & Naxalites.
Indo-Tibetan Border Police
- Protects the border between India & China (from Ladakh to Arunachal Pradesh)
- Promotes a sense of security among citizens by providing security at northern borders.
- Prevents the violation of the border.
- Prevents trans-border smuggling, anti-national activities and illegal immigration.
Seema Suraksha Bal
- Protects Indo – Nepal and Indo – Bhutan borders.
- Prevents cross-border crimes, smuggling and anti-national activities.
Central Industrial Security Force
- Provide security to various PSUs and other important infrastructures.
- Protects Government infrastructure projects and industrial units.
- Protecting the Government infrastructure projects and industrial units
- Sub-Inspector in Delhi Police is responsible for maintaining law and order in Delh

General Intelligence and Reasoning: Questions are asked from analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding, and decoding, etc.
General Knowledge and General Awareness: The test include questions relating to India and its neighboring countries especially pertaining to History, Culture, Geography, Economic Scene, General Polity, Indian Constitution, scientific Research, etc.
Quantitative Aptitude: Questions are asked from whole numbers, decimals, fractions and relationships between numbers, Percentage, Ratio and Proportion, Square roots, Averages, Interest, Profit & Loss, Discount, Partnership Business, Mixture and Allegation, Time and distance, Time & Work, Basic algebraic identities of School Algebra and Elementary surds, etc.

Travelling allowance is not offered to candidates appearing for written examination for any candidate. They need to reach the exam centre at their own cost. English Comprehension: This section assesses a candidate's ability to understand basic English, Comprehension & Writing Ability.

Following are the few exam day guidelines for SSC CPO exam.
- Candidates must reach the SSC CPO exam centre early to avoid last minute hassle
- Carry admit card along with one photo-identity proof to the SSC CPO exam centre
- Avoid wearing clothes with large buttons, full sleeves, or excessive accessories to adhere to the prescribed guidelines
- Do not bring electronic devices such as mobile phones, watches, cameras, or any Bluetooth devices
- Do not bring prohibited items include books, magazines, newspapers, or any paper chits
- Do not wear banned accessories such as rings, bracelets, earrings, nose pins, chains, necklaces, pendants, badges, brooches, hairpins, and hair bands

SSC CPO notification 2024 was released on March 4, 2024. The notification was released to fill up a total of 4,187 vacancies. A total of 125 vacancies have been announced for SI (Exe) in Delhi Police (Male), 61 for SI (Exe) in Delhi Police (Female) and 4001 SI (GD) in CAPFs.
