The educational qualification prescribed for the exam is a Graduation. According to SSC CPO 2025 exam dates, the Paper 1 exam of SSC CPO will be conducted in Nov-Dec 2025.

Sub Inspector in Sahastra Seema Bal (SSB)

Sub Inspector in Central Industrial Security Force (CISF)

Sub Inspector in Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF)

SSC CPO Educational Qualification
SSC CPO educational qualification is given below:
- Educational Qualification for all posts is a Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or equivalent.
- The programs in Engineering, Medicine, Dental, Nursing, Pharmacy, Architecture, and Physiotherapy, etc are not permitted to be offered under Open and Distance Learning mode.
- Candidates who have not acquired the educational qualification will not be eligible and need not apply.
- For the post of Sub Inspector in Delhi Police (only) - Male candidates must possess a valid Driving License for LMV (Motorcycle and Car) as on the date fixed for Physical Endurance and Standard Tests. Otherwise, they will not be allowed to undergo Physical Endurance and Standard Tests.
SSC CPO exam always focus on previous years' question papers. Candidates must give due importance to solve the previous year question papers thoroughly. Candidates must prepare the physical in advance. Candidates must solve mock tests to improve speed and accuracy of solving questions. Candidates must be thorough with the syllabus and exam pattern.
The training syllabi for induction courses are confined to training institutions. The duration of training is usually of six to nine months. Indoor training involves imparting knowledge on various subjects under the law, police science, police rules, practical work, criminology, cybercrime and terrorism, human behavior, etc. The outdoor module trains the officers in several fields- physical exercise and drills, vehicle driving, handling of arms and weapons, and practice firing. Special emphasis is given to fitness and unarmed combat. Candidates selected through SSC CPO exam are appointed to the post of Sub Inspector with either the Delhi Police, the CAPF or as Assistant Sub Inspector in CISF. The CAPF is a Paramilitary force also known as the Central Armed Police Forces. It is not directly a wing of the Military and it comes under the Home Ministry.

SSC CPO application fee is INR 100 for General and OBC candidates. All female candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Caste, Schedule Tribe, Persons with benchmark Disabilities (Divyangjans) and ExServicemen candidates eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee. After filling the online application form, candidates can pay the fees online only through net banking, Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards. Earlier, candidates could pay their application fees through challan. However, the process of fee payment through challan has been discontinued by SSC. The application fees once paid by candidates will not be refunded. After fee payment, candidates should take the printout of the fee transaction receipt.
SSC CPO 2025 Admit Card
SSC CPO 2025 admit card will be released separately for different stages of exams. The link to download SSC CPO admit card is released region-wise by the Commission. Candidates can download their admit cards by logging with the required credentials. The hard copy of SSC CPO admit card 2025 is not sent to candidates by post. Candidates need to take the printed copy of their admit cards along with one photo-identity proof to the exam centre.
SSC CPO 2025 Exam Pattern
SSC CPO exam pattern is such that it is divided into Paper 1, Physical Standard Test (PST)/ Physical Endurance Test (PET), Paper 2 and Detailed Medical Examination (DME). Paper 1 of SSC CPO comprises 200 objective-type questions on topics from General Knowledge, General Intelligence, English, and Quantitative Aptitude. There are negative marking in the CBT 1 exam. Paper 2 comprises objective-type questions from English Language and Comprehension. There are 200 questions in the paper. Candidates need to complete the paper within 2 hours. Questions are designed to test the candidates' understanding and knowledge of English Language. PST/ PET does not carry any marks but it is of qualifying/ elimination nature.

General Intelligence and Reasoning: Questions are asked from analogies, similarities and differences, space visualization, spatial orientation, problem-solving, analysis, judgment, decision making, visual memory, discrimination, observation, relationship concepts, arithmetical reasoning and figural classification, arithmetic number series, non-verbal series, coding, and decoding, etc.
