BHU placements are good. The highest and average packages secured by MBA students in 2025 were INR 19.8 LPA and INR 10.1 LPA, respectively. Median salary stood at INR 9.2 LPA. The university has not yet released the placement data 2026 for other courses. During the placement drive 2025, a total of 177 placement drives were held, and more than 950 students were placed.
Any caste, region, religion students can apply for admission to various courses at BHU. Any caste student must fulfill the eligibility criteria and take admission. While selection process, students are not judged basis their religion, they are judged based on their merit. Hence, any student meeting the eligibility criteria can get admission in BHU. BHU is accepting CUET-UG entrance exam scores for admission to several undergraduate courses. For BHU course admission, aspirants must apply online to register themselves. Follow the step-wise admission process as given below:
1. BHU BA (Hons) Application Process 2025
The BHU application process is conducted online through the official website of NTA. For successful application submission, candidates need to pay an application fee. The fee for General category students is INR 750, INR 700 for OBC-NCL/EWS, and INR 650 for SC/ST/PwD/Transgender. The application process consists of the following steps:
- Visit the official website of CUET-UG (cuet.samarth.ac.in) and click on the 'New Registration' tab and read the instructions carefully before proceeding.
- Fill out the application form with all the mandatory details such as personal, educational qualifications etc.
- Upload the scanned photograph and signature as per the prescribed specifications.
- Select the course and BHU as per your preference and pay the CUET application fee as mentioned above.
2. CUET Entrance Test
After successful registration, candidates need to download the admit card by visiting the official website of CUET and clicking on 'Download CUET Admit Card'. The next step is to appear for the entrance test as scheduled.
3. Register for CUET-UG Counselling through the BHU UG Admission Portal
After the declaration of the CUET result, students seeking admission to BHU undergraduate courses are required to register online for CUET-UG Counselling on the University UG admission portal. Candidates who appeared for the CUET-UG exam are only eligible to register themselves for the counselling process.

4. Counselling Round
Based on candidates' scores in CUET-UG, candidates are then required to participate in an online counselling process for provisional admission to the course(s) they have applied for. After that, the final seat allotment will be done by BHU. The total tuition fee ranges between INR 11.89K and INR 57.2K. This fee amount is taken from the official website. It is still subject to changes.

BHU UET counselling process is carried out completely in online mode. Candidates can register for the counselling by following below-mentioned steps:
STEP 1: Candidates need to visit the BHU admission portal to register for the online counselling procedure. To create login credentials, candidates have to provide their NTA application number, and other details along with email ID and create a password to activate the registration account.
STEP 2: Login by entering the Email ID and password and start filling out the application form and upload the required documents. The documents to be uploaded (PDF/JPEG format) are:

STEP 4: After fee payment, preference entry page opens. Candidates can fill in their preferences separately for all the programmes in this form. Seat allotment result is then announced by the university.

Banaras Hindu University can be reached via air, rail, or road transport. The airport the nearest to BHU is Lal Bahadur Shastri International Airport. It is around 30 KMs away from the campus.
There are three main railway stations in Varanasi, namely Varanasi Junction (Varanasi Cantt.), Banaras Station, and Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Junction. Banaras Station is the closest to BHU. Those travelling by road can take NH-19 or NH-31. Various public transports run on these national highways. Within the city, autos, e-rickshaws, and cabs are easily available to reach the BHU campus.

In 2025, UG 3-year and 4-year students received median packages of INR 8.5 LPA and INR 9 LPA, respectively, as per the NIRF Report 2026. The median packages of PG 2-year and 3-year students in 2025 were INR 9 LPA and INR 14 LPA, respectively.
