The University accepts CUET scores to admit students for the BA (Hons) programme. However, candidates seeking admission need to fulfil the minimum eligibility criteria as mentioned below. The BHU BA eligibility criteria is mentioned in the following table:

BHU cutoff 2025 was released for multiple specialisations. Based on the last round cutoff, the closing ranks varied between 1489 and 14447 for the General AI quota. So, if you belong to the General category, you must target a JEE Advanced cutoff rank of up to 14447 or below to secure a seat at IIT BHU for BTech admission. For top branches like CSE and Mathematics and Computing, the maximum required cutoff ranks for admission were 1489 and 1924 in the last round.

BHU placements are good. The highest and average packages secured by MBA students in 2025 were INR 19.8 LPA and INR 10.1 LPA, respectively. Median salary stood at INR 9.2 LPA. The university has not yet released the placement data 2026 for other courses. During the placement drive 2025, a total of 177 placement drives were held, and more than 950 students were placed.
BHU has a dediacted placement cell which invites prominent companies for the placement drives. During the Banaras Hindu University 2025 placement drive, more than 65 companies participated. Some of the eminent recruiters during the 2025 placements included Cognizant, Genpact, Adani Wilmar, IBM, Infosys, Wipro, Deloitte, KPMG, etc.
BHU has become more vibrant and inclusive since the time co-education was introduced in its Faculty of Social Science and Faculty of Arts. While the IIT-BHU still has a more conservative culture, BHU offers its students more freedom and facilities.
Students are free to eat at any mess of their hostel. The cost of a general diet is INR 40 - 45 per day. The cost of a special diet (served twice a week) is INR 50 - 90 per day. Students with friends at IIT have access to higher quality food.
BHU is the largest residential university in Asia, with over 70 hostels. Students ranked under 300 - 400 are easily inducted into hostels.

BHU offers entrance-based admissions to all its UG and PG courses. To get admission to any UG and PG courses, it is compulsory to appear for the CUET-UG/ CUET-PG entrance exams. Further, the university also accepts other entrance exam such as NEET, GATE, CAT, etc. for admission to specific courses. Hence, candidates are required to appear for the accepted entrance-exam and also meet the course-specific eligibility for admission at BHU.
For admission to a BHU BA (Hons) course, aspirants need to complete the CUET-UG application process. NTA carries out the registrations in online mode. Eligible students can visit NTA CUET website to apply. The application process includes registration, form filling, document upload, and payment of the application fees. Further, to submit the application successfully, candidates must pay the fee on time. Banaras Hindu University course admissions is entrance-based for most of the programmes. Thus, one-year dropper student can apply for the desired course, however, qualifying the respective entrance is the a must. Apart from this, aspirant should meet the course-specific minimum eligibility requirements as well.

BHU BA Admission 2025: How to Apply?
BHU is accepting CUET-UG entrance exam scores for admission to several undergraduate courses. For BHU course admission, aspirants must apply online to register themselves. Follow the step-wise admission process as given below:
1. BHU BA (Hons) Application Process 2025
The BHU application process is conducted online through the official website of NTA. For successful application submission, candidates need to pay an application fee. The fee for General category students is INR 750, INR 700 for OBC-NCL/EWS, and INR 650 for SC/ST/PwD/Transgender. The application process consists of the following steps:
- Visit the official website of CUET-UG (cuet.samarth.ac.in) and click on the 'New Registration' tab and read the instructions carefully before proceeding.
- Fill out the application form with all the mandatory details such as personal, educational qualifications etc.
- Upload the scanned photograph and signature as per the prescribed specifications.
- Select the course and BHU as per your preference and pay the CUET application fee as mentioned above.
2. CUET Entrance Test
After successful registration, candidates need to download the admit card by visiting the official website of CUET and clicking on 'Download CUET Admit Card'. The next step is to appear for the entrance test as scheduled.
3. Register for CUET-UG Counselling through the BHU UG Admission Portal
After the declaration of the CUET result, students seeking admission to BHU undergraduate courses are required to register online for CUET-UG Counselling on the University UG admission portal. Candidates who appeared for the CUET-UG exam are only eligible to register themselves for the counselling process.

4. Counselling Round
Based on candidates' scores in CUET-UG, candidates are then required to participate in an online counselling process for provisional admission to the course(s) they have applied for. After that, the final seat allotment will be done by BHU. The total tuition fee ranges between INR 6.9K and INR 57.2K. This fee amount is taken from the official website. It is still subject to changes.

Yes, you can get into BHU with a score of 50 if you belong to the General AI category. The BHU cutoff 2026 was released for the first round for different PG-level courses based on the CUET PG entrance exam.

Yes, Banaras Hindu University accept CUET score for multiple UG courses, including BA (Hons), BCom (Hons) BSc (Hons), etc. The university is also offering admission to its PG courses based on merit in CUET-PG. Aspirants who meet the eligibility requirements can register on the BHU admission portal for counselling. The admission is done in order of merit based on the normalised score of the CUET (PG) and reservation policy as per the provisions laid down in the BHU PET Information Brochure.
BHU BSc (H) admission is strictly entrance-based. Earlier, admission was through BHU-UET, however, now the students need to take the CUET-UG exam. Whether you can get BHU for the BAMS course based on the AYUSH results would depend entirely on the category you belong to. For the General and OBC AI categories, the last round cutoff was 30748 and 32844, respectively. Hence, admissions with a rank of 70K are not possible for these categories.
On the other hand, for the SC AI category, the last round cutoff was 148564. There admissions could be possible with a rank of 70K.
BHU cutoff 2026 was released for the 4th round for different All India quota categories for the UG-level courses. The round 4 cutoff ranged from 53 to 145 for the General AI category. Yes, Banaras Hindu University accepts CUET-UG entrance exam scores for admission to BA (Hons) course. Earlier, admission to the UG course was through BHU UET.
