The BHU application process is conducted online through the official website of NTA. For successful application submission, candidates need to pay an application fee. The fee for General category students is INR 750, INR 700 for OBC-NCL/EWS, and INR 650 for SC/ST/PwD/Transgender. The application process consists of the following steps:

Banaras Hindu University has seat reservation of SC, ST, OBC, and other such category candidates. Additionally, seats are reserved for females, physically challenged, visually impaired, etc., candidates as well. Some key pointers related to BHU reservation policy are as follows:
- The university reserves 15% and 7.5% of seats are reserved for Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe candidates, respectively for each course.
- 27% of seats are reserved for candidates belonging to the OBC category (excluding under creamy layer); not applicable for all courses.
- 3% of seats are reserved for Physically Challenged Candidates. Wherein, 1% is for each category: Visually Impaired, Hearing Impaired, and Orthopaedically Handicapped.

In 2024, BHU affiliated colleges released BAMS course via AYUSH exam. According to BHU cutoff 2024, the BAMS last-round for the General AI category candidates stood at 73756. BHU MDS admissions are based on NEET MDS scores, followed by counselling round. As per BHU cutoff 2024, the Last Round cutoff for BHU ranged from 5 to 386 for the General AI category candidates. Among all the MDS courses, the lowest cutoff released for MDS in Orthodonitics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Similarly, the highest cutoff for MDS in Public Health Dentistry.
