To secure seat at IIT Bombay for CSE, students should obtain rank as per the cutoff list. For BTech CSE admission, cutoff was 23 for EWS All India category candidates. Therefore, they should get a rank of 23 or below to secure a seat as per the last round cutoff list.

For the students belonging to the OBC AI quota, the IIT Bombay 2025 cutoff for Round 4 was between 54 and 4014 for BTech admission. Considering the closing ranks, the top two most competitive BTech branches were Computer Science and Engineering and Electrical Engineering with competitive Round 4 closing ranks of 54 and 339, respectively. The cut off rank in Round 6 for B.Tech. in Computer Science and Engineering is 67 which is very close to this range. This was for general category under All India quota. Unless the candidate belongs to some other category, one can not afford to score less than this. With this rank, there is a probability of getting admission however since, the cut offs keep changing from round to round, better ranks definitely increases your chances of getting admission in IIT Bombay - Indian Institute of Technology. 

IIT Bombay is one of the top Engineering institute in the country. It is ranked by various bodies. National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) has ranked IIT Bombay, #3 in the "Engineering" category. BTech is the flagship programme of the institute. Moreover, the institute also offers MBA programme. IIT Bombay is also well-known for its Management course. It has secured #10 position in the NIRF 2024 rankings in the Management category.

The average and median packages offered during IIT Bombay placements 2024 stood at INR 23.5 LPA and INR 17.92 LPA, respectively. The overall placement rate recorded during IIT Bombay placements 2024 was 74.53% with 1,475 students participating in the process out of 1,979 students. A total of 930 students registered,  819 students participated and 683 students were placed durinng BTech placements 2024. The placement percentage went this low because of minimal or no participation in the placement process from over 400 students. Most of them went for higher studies, such as MS / MTech / PhD and MBA courses, while many opted for entrepreneurship or civil services.

More than 22 students received offers above INR 1 CPA during IIT Bombay placements 2024. Earlier, The highest international and domestic package offered during IIT Bombay placements 2023 stood at INR 3.67 crore per annum and INR 1.68 crore per annum, respectively. Further, an improving trend was witnessed in the highest international package offered over the past three years during IIT Bombay placements. IIT Bombay offers BTech course in different specialisations and as an integrated programme. Its fee structure is cumulative of various components, such as tuition fees, caution money, and more. Students who get a seat allocated in the counselling have to pay the required fee amount. IIT Bombay BTech tuition fees range from INR 8 Lacs to INR 10 lakh. This range is inclusive of tuition fees for the integrated programme.
