NLSAT 2026: Exam Dates, Notification, Registration, Eligibility, Syllabus, Results

The total seat intake for a three-year LLB at NLSIU Bangalore is 120, which will be filled based on the entrance exam - Part A and B, and the eligibility criteria for the course. The question paper pattern of NLSAT is divided into two parts i.e. Part A comprises 75 marks for objective-type questions, and Part B comprises 65 marks for subjective-type questions. The final selection process is based on the entrance test scores out of 140 marks, and personal interview scores out of 10 marks.

Candidates who want to apply to the NLSIU for BA LLB (Hons) and LLM programs must take the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT). However, for admissions into its three-year LLB course, Master’s Programme in Public Policy, PhD (Law), and PhD (Interdisciplinary) programmes candidates have to appear for NLSAT 2026. 

NLSAT admit card 2026 will be released atleast 15 days before the NLSAT Exam. The admit card will be issued to candidates who have successfully applied for NLSAT Exam 2026. Candidates will be able to download their admit card from the official website - nls.ac.in. Candidates have to login with Username and Password as registered to access the admit card. Without the NLSAT 2026 hall ticket candidates will not be allowed to appear in NLSAT Exam 2026. 

Candidates must note that they need not have to attain any age limit to take part in NLSAT Exam 2026. As per the official eligibility criteria of the NLSAT, there is no age-limit criteria for candidates to appear in NLSAT 2026 exam. However, it is mandatory for candidates to fulfill other basic educational requirements, to take part in the NLSAT Exam 2026.

Candidates can pay the NLSAT 2026 Application Fee on or before the last date. NLSAT 2026 Application Form can be filled by visiting the official website; i.e. admissions.nls.ac.in. The application fee payable for the three-year LLB course of NLSIU admissions was as under:

NLSAT Registration 2026 is expected to begin in December. Candidates must note that NLSAT Registration is important to appear in exam. NLSAT 2026 Exam pattern is: Part A  consist of multiple choice questions concerning reading comprehension, current affairs, and critical reasoning. This section will be for a total of 75 marks. Part B is the descriptive section that will consist of two sub sections namely legal aptitude for 60 marks and analytical ability for 15 marks. The negative marking of 0.25 marks will also be implemented for every wrong answer. 

NLSAT admit card is useful at the time of the exam. Therefore, once downloaded, candidates have to retain the admit card with them till the NLSAT admission process is over.  The admit card is a mandatory document that one must not forget to carry to the exam center on the day of exam. Candidates who fail to carry their admit card will not be allowed to appear for the exam. Candidates are advised to keep their admit card even after the exam is over.

The NLSAT is conducted in English. All questions and instructions will be provided in English, so candidates are expected to have proficiency in the language to effectively understand and answer the questions.

The NLSAT 2026 results will be released few days after the final answer key is published. NLSAT Exam 2026 will be held in offline pen-paper-based mode. Candidates will be given two hours to complete the exam. NLSAT 2026 exam will be conducted in more than 139 exam centers in India.
