Q. How long have you been preparing for?

A. I have been preparing for the exam for two years, from Class 11th.

Q. What was your preparation strategy for the exam? What is the minimum time frame needed to prepare for JEE Main?

A. For JEE Mains, I focused on NCERT only.  However, for Maths, I referred to higher, tougher and more complicated books.

I think, to prepare for JEE Mains, you need atleast two years and a month for revision. The last month or bit of preparation is not important. What matters if the focus in the two years.

Q. What was your score in JEE Main 2017?

A. I scored 340 out of 360.

Q. What’s your strategy for JEE Advanced?

A.  I want to cover the syllabus by practicing tougher questions in the days left before the exam.  Else, I am done with my bit of revision.

Q. What did you do to improve your weak areas?

A. I practiced more questions. I do not believe in the theory part of it. More than reading, I solved a lot of questions. I was weak in Chemistry.

Q. Which institute are you vying for and which is the course you aim to pursue?

A. I want to get into IIT Bombay for Computer Science Engineering (CSE).

Q. Have you taken any other exam/s besides JEE Main and Advanced?

A. I appeared for KVPY and NTSE and got through both of them. I also cleared the first stage of all Olympiads conducted by Homi Bhabha.

Q. Do you think coaching is required to crack JEE?

A. I think, coaching is a must for securing more than 300 in the exam. One can clear the exam without coaching as well but to score 300, you need to take up coaching classes. I took my coaching classes from Allen Career Institute, Kota.

Q. Any tips for aspirants taking the exam next year?

A. I think students should remember the entire NCERT by heart.

Q. So, tell us something about your family?

A. My father is an orthopedic surgeon and my mother is a housewife. I have a little sister who is currently in Class 10th.

Q. What plans for the future? What do you want to become?

A. I want to become an App Developer and have a start-up of my own. The inspiration comes from my love for this subject.

Q. Tell us about yourself and your hobbies?

A. I like playing football and cricket. I love dancing too. I used to write stories and poems as well but am unable to continue with it as of now.
