The All India Management Association (AIMA) has released sample papers for Management Aptitude Test (MAT) takers to solve and get an idea of the questions they will be asked when they sit for the exam on May 7 and May 11-13, 2017.
MAT, conducted by the AIMA, is the second most popular common entrance exam in India, after CAT, for admission to management institutes. Candidates clearing MAT have the option of as many as 600 colleges across the country to choose from.
Explore colleges based on MAT
The exam is similar to other management entrance tests, but is also unique in its own way. Besides, Language Comprehension, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning, the syllabus contains topics from Indian and Global Environment. This section contains current affairs and GK questions. Though this section is as important as rest of the four subjects, it is not included in the composite score. The composite score is arrived at using the marks scored in Language Comprehension, Data Analysis and Sufficiency, Mathematical Skills, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning. Indian and Global Environment score is calculated separately.
For May 2017 test takers, this is the right time to start solving sample papers and taking mock tests, to get used to the actual exam environment. The exam conducting body has released a sample test paper for the candidates to go through and solve. The sample paper is like the actual exam paper with marking scheme mentioned on it.
The candidates may have already been provided with sample questions by their coaching institutes. This is an additional set of questions provided exclusively by MAT, which is why the test takers must attempt it.
Check out some of the questions from the sample paper released by MAT, below.

MAT mock test practice is essential but not enough. You will need to go through the MAT syllabus and understand the fundamentals of all topics, only then you'll be able to crack questions in mock test.

It is not compulsory to attempt MAT GK section as the score in not considered for percentile calculation but it is not recommended to skip it all together as it may dent your chances in colleges that look at candidates' sectional scores too.

MAT and CMAT both are moderately difficulty exam, but have their own challenges. While, CMAT has one extra section Innovation and Entrepreneurship, MAT has a separate section for Data Interpretation having 30 questions. With focused preparation, you can crack either of the two that you choose.
