IIT Jammu Highlights 2025
Established by the Ministry of Human Resource Development, GoI in 2016, IIT Jammu is a public/government college In 2018 it shifted the primary operations from its temporary campus in Paloura to the main campus in Jagti, Nagrota. Currently IIT Jammu offers PG, UG, PhD, and other courses through 11 departments across Engineering, Physics, Chemistry, and other streams.
It is one of the esteemed institutes in Jammu and Kashmir and has ranked at 56 by the NIRF 2025 under the Engineering category. It was mentored by IIT Delhi in its initial phases. The State Government of Jammu and Kashmir has provided land of 400 acres for the permanent campus. The Jammu IIT also has an Innovation and Incubation Centre on the campus that fosters the entrepreneurial spirit of the students. It was established under the MHRD’s Innovation Cell (MIC).

The schedule of JEE Main counselling will be declared by the Joint Seat Allocation Authority after the declaration of the JEE Main result.
