Documents Required for JEE Main 2026 Registration: The detailed list of JEE Mains registration documents is given in the official notice. Candidates can check the documents required for JEE Main 2026 and its size guidelines on this page. Aspirants have to upload all the documents in the size and format prescribed to avoid rejection later. The JEE Main 2026 registration will conclude on November 27, 2025.

📢In a latest JEE Main update, NTA has announced it will auto-fetch the candidates' Name, Date of Birth, Gender, Address and Photograph and Address from UIDAI through Aadhar authentication. It is expected that the candidates' photo will no longer be a required document for JEE Main 2026 for students applying through the Aadhar number.

Documents Required for JEE Mains Application Form

Applicants can find the list of JEE Main 2026 documents below:

  • Aadhar Card
  • Class 10th marksheet
  • Photograph of the examinee
  • Signature of the candidate
  • Income certificate (if applicable)
  • Caste certificate (if applicable)
  • UDID card (for PwD candidates)

The list above includes all the official documents required while filling the form. Applicants must ensure to enter the correct details to avoid rejection of the application form. Not all of these documents have to be uploaded. In fact, general category candidates have to skip most of these documents. However, applicants are advised to keep these documents around to fill out exact details by referring to them and avoiding any discrepancy or errors at the last moment, which happens often than you think.

Q:   What should I do if I am not able to pay the fee for the JEE Main 2026 application form?
A:

Candidates can face difficulty in payment of application fees due to various reasons like

  • Slower internet connection while paying fees
  • Slow bank server
  • Insufficient balance in bank

In case any candiate faces issues while trying to pay JEE Main application fees, they should try paying the fees after some time. Candidates can also try logging out the application form process once and then try paying application fee again after logging in. If the situation still persists, students can contact NTA JEE Main helpline number.

Q:   What is Aadhar Enrollment Number used in JEE Main Application Form?
A:

Aadhar enrollment number is a unique number which students can find in the acknowledgement receipt received at the time of applying for Aadhar. Students should know that Aadhar enrollment number is not same as Aadhar number. At the time of filling JEE Main application form, candidates have to fill Aadhar Enrollment number and not Aadhar number.

In case candidates do not have Aadhar enrollment number, students can apply through Passport, PAN or ABC ID (Academic Bank of Credit ID). 

Q:   When will JEE Main 2026 Registration start?
A:

JEE Main Registration 2026 has started on October 31, 2025. JEE Main 2026 application form is available online onthe website jeemain.nta.nic.in. The information brochure for JEE Main 2026 exam has also been released on October 31. 

Documents To Be Uploaded During JEE Mains Registration

The following is the list of documents that have to be uploaded during the JEE Main 2026 registration. While the official notification will provide exact guidelines, candidates can check the details as per the last JEE Mains information brochure below:

  • Scanned image of the candidate’s photograph
  • Scanned image of the candidate’s signature
  • Class X or equivalent certificate/mark sheet
  • PwD/PwBD certificate
🚩General category candidates only need to upload their photograph, signature and class 10th certificate.

How to upload the JEE Main registration documents?

Important Instructions for Uploading the JEE Mains Registration Documents

  • Do not upload blurred or dark images.
  • Remember to save the file as 'Photograph' and save it in JPG/JPEG format
  • Similarly, the signature file should be named as 'Signature' and be saved in JPG/JPEG format.
  • Applicants must save the scanned copy of class X or equivalent certificate/marksheet as ‘Class-X Certificate’ and save it in a PDF file between 10 kb to 300 kb.
  • The scanned copy of the PwD/PwBD certificate should be named as 'Disability Certificate' and should be a pdf between 10 kb to 300 kb.
  • A correction facility for the required documents may not be available in the future. 
  • Uploading wrong documents may lead to UFM penalties
  • Use an updated browser and a stable internet to avoid upload errors. 

What Happens If You Upload the Wrong Document?

Uploading another person's photograph or signature, or a tampered document, can lead to rejection of the application form. If it is discovered at a later stage that the candidate has used someone else's documents, then he/she may be disqualified for admission under NTA's UFM rules and shall be dealt with according to the rules. The correction window may not allow the document re-upload facility.

Documents Required to Appear for JEE Mains Exam

Candidates also require certain documents to appear in the JEE Mains exam. These documents include:

  • JEE Main 2026 admit card
  • 2 passport-size photographs, as uploaded in the JEE Mains 2026 application form
  • Govt-issued ID proof

Q:   What is the modes for payment of JEE Main 2026 application fee?
A:

Candidates can pay JEE Main application fees using any one of the following method

  • Credit/debit card of any nationalised bank
  • Internet banking
  • UPI
  • Paytm

Before paying the application fee, candidates should check whether there is requisite balance in the Bank Account / Wallet/Debit/credit card. In case any candidate faces difficulty in the payment of application fees, they can contact NTA helpline number.

Q:   Can I pay JEE Main application fee in offline mode?
A:

No, JEE Main application fees can not be paid in offline mode. As per the directions of NTA, JEE Main application fees can be paid only in online mode. Candidates can pay the application fees using credit/debit card or internet banking. No other modes/medium of application fee payment is accepted.
