IIT Patna Application Process 2026
Aspirants have to apply via entrance exam for BTech, MTech and MSc courses. Students need to register and appear for the test. For PhD, aspirants have to fill out the form on the institute's website. Candidates also have to apply for MTech on institute's website after seat allotment. Check below course-wise application process:
- BTech and BTech Dual degree aspirants must fill out the application form for JEE Main. The application fee for boys is INR 1,000 and INR 800 for girls.
- MTech candidates are required to register for GATE via the official website of the GATE Online Application Processing System (GOAPS). The application fee for boys is INR 2,000 and INR 1,000 for girls. Aspirants also have to apply on the institute's website. The application fees for MTech is INR 1,000 and INR 500 for female (INR 500 for SC/ ST/ PwD category). For sponsored, self-financed and part-time category, application fees is INR 1,000.

IIT Patna campus is spread across 501 acres and help in the overall development of students. IIT Patna features modern, sustainable & eco friendly infrastructure. IIT Patna infrastructure includes advanced laboratories, central library, residential spaces, 24/7 medical center and student activity centers. IIT Patna provides hostel facility to all students. The campus has three boy's and one girl's hostel. There are two married scholar's apartments (near campus) for master's and PhD students. - Sports: The college has dedicated grounds for cricket, football and hockey. IIT Patna sports infrastructure includes indoor courts for badminton, table tennis and squash. IIT Patna has a fully equipped gymnasium plus an open-air gym near the hostel.
- Health Care: IIT Patna has an on-campus health centre. The health centre is staffed by qualified medical officers and runs round the clock ambulance. A hospital is adjacent to the campus, handles specialised care, and an on-campus pharmacy covers prescriptions.
- Library: The central library of IIT Patna is equipped with modern amenities and facilities. IIT Patna library has wide range of print and electronic resources, including books, e-books, journals, databases and theses.

The boys' hostel building is a 8-storey structure divided into 4 blocks. IIT Patna boys' hostel has 912 rooms, two common rooms and a gymnasium. The girls hostel is a 5-storey building with 2 blocks. There are total 108 rooms in the girls' hostel, 1 common room, mess and a gym. Seven boys hostels and 2 girls hostels are proposed in the plan.

No, the GATE registrations for IIT Patna 2026 MSc admissions are no longer open. The GATE registrations were closed in the month of November 2025. The GATE is scheduled to take place in the month of February 2026. Candidates who failed to register for the GATE are required to wait for the GATE 2027
