MITID DAT 2025: M Des/B.des Result (OUT), Final Merit List, Admission Process

MAEER'S MIT Institute of Design, a constituent of MIT Art Design & Technology University conducts MITID DAT to shortlist candidates for admission to various BDes and MDes programs at Avantika University, Ujjain, MIT Institute of Design, Pune, and MIT University, Shillong.   

The highlights of MITID DAT are:

The last date for submission of the application form was extended for the M.Des (Master of Design) programme for the 2025–26 academic year (Cycle 2) until April 20, 2025. Earlier Cycle 2 application was scheduled to close on April 14, 2025.

For admission to design courses offered at MIT Institute of Design, Pune, Avantika University, Ujjain, and MIT University, Shillong, the candidate has to fill out the MITID DAT application form 2025 following these steps.

Step 1: Register for the exam

To register, visit the official website of the MIT Institute of Design: https://www.mitid.edu.in/admission/admission-process/. Upon entering the registration details, an automated verification link will be sent to the candidate's registered email ID. Click on the link to activate the account.

Step 2: Fill out the application form

After activating their account, candidates had to fill in the required details in the application form and upload their passport-size photograph. After that, candidates have to accept the declaration and submit the online application form.

Step 3: Pay the application fee

After successfully submitting the form, candidates had to proceed to the payment option and pay the application fee.

Step 4: Get MITID DAT Admit Card

The admit card was generated and sent to the candidate's registered email ID after scrutiny, verification and acceptance of the application form. Candidates could also download their Admit Card by logging into their profile on the MIT DAT portal. MITID DAT admit card contains details such as the name and roll number of the candidate as well as the date, time, and allotted center for the design entrance exam.

MITID DAT 2023 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria that candidates need to fulfill in order to secure admission in BDes and MDes programmes through MITID DAT 2023 are listed below:

• UG Course Eligibility Criteria: Candidates who have passed Class 12 in any stream from a recognized board such as HSC, CBSC, ICSE, IB meet MITID-DAT 2023 eligibility criteria for BDes programme.
• PG Course Eligibility Criteria: Candidates who have an undergraduate degree in 10+2+3 pattern from a recognized university fulfill MITID-DAT 2023 eligibility criteria for MDes programme.

Steps for MITID DAT 2025

MIT DAT 2025 will be conducted for admitting candidates to the B.Des & M.Des programs offered at MIT Institute of Design (MIT ID) Pune, MITID Ujjain (Avantika University) Ujjain & MITID Shillong (MIT University Shillong). Candidates seeking admission to these institutes have to follow the process as under:

Step 1: Appear for MITID DAT

After getting the admit card, candidates have to appear in the Design Aptitude Test (DAT).

Step 2: Check MITID DAT Result

The result of the Design Aptitude Test (DAT) will be used to shortlist candidates for the Studio Test and Personal Interview.

The final result for MITID DAT will be prepared by considering the performance of the candidate in:

1. The Studio Test and Personal Interview
2. Design Entrance Test (DET)

Step 3: Give Studio Test and Personal Interview

Candidates shortlisted in MITID-DAT then need to appear for the studio test, followed by the personal interview round, which will be conducted separately by MIT Institute of Design Pune, Avantika University Ujjain & MIT University Shillong. The list of shortlisted candidates for the Studio test and Personal Interview will be announced on the respective websites of MIT ID Pune, Avantika University Ujjain & MIT University Shillong.

Note: As per the official website of the Design Aptitude Test:

• The Admission Committee decides the procedures, grades, and weightage every year.
• The norms for the selection are the sole prerogative of the Admission Committee and the decision of the Admission Committee and the Management in any of the matters concerning the admission process and selection will be final. Any direct or indirect attempt to influence the admission committee or its members, academic office bearers, or management will lead to the automatic disqualification of the candidate(s).

Admission to other institutes based on MITID DAT 2025 scores

The World University of Design (WUD) will consider scores of MITID DAT 2025 for admission to their design courses. Interested candidates may apply for admission once MITID DAT results are announced.

MIT Institute of Design didn't release any official MITID DAT syllabus. However, in MITID DAT, candidates are usually evaluated on the basis of their analytical skills, internalization skills, problem-solving skills, observation skills, learning skills, curiosity, individualistic skills, media skills, general knowledge, communication skills, and ability to work in a team. However, there are several requirements mentioned on the official website of the Design Aptitude Test, which candidates can go through during the preparation for the MITID DAT exam. 

MITID DAT exam is conducted in two stages:

Stage 1: MITID DET 

Stage 2: Studio Test and Personal Interview

Phase 1: MITID Design Entrance Test (MITID DET) 2025 is an entrance exam of design for admission to B.Des and M.Des programs offered by MIT Institute of Design Pune, Avantika University Ujjain and MIT University Shillong. The exam is conducted at multiple test centers across India. Candidates who are shortlisted on the basis of the MITID DET score are eligible for the next phase.

Phase 2: Studio Test and Personal Interview for MITID DET 2025 will be conducted at the MIT Institute of Design campus in Pune. Stage 2 includes Studio Test and Personal Interview. The candidate need to clear both the phases to get the admission.

The list of shortlisted candidates for the second phase will be announced on the official MITID website. No separate call letters will be issued.
