DAT examination includes computer-based MCQ (objective) test, subjective test and offline drawing test. Objective and Descriptive Test is a Computer Based Test. Where in Objective Test candidates have to choose the correct option, in Descriptive Test they have to write the correct answer in the text box. Drawing Exam is an Offline Test. For this section candidates are provided A4 size drawing sheets to draw using Pens / Pencils / Colours etc. After the exam is over, the answer sheets are collected, scanned and uploaded for evaluation at the test centre.
The admission to design courses will be based on the final merit list which will be prepared by considering the peformance of the candidate in:

Register for the exam
To register, visit the official website of the MIT Institute of Design: https://www.mitid.edu.in/admission/admission-process/. Upon entering the registration details, an automated verification link will be sent to the candidate's registered email ID. Click on the link to activate the account.
Fill out the application form
After activating their account, candidates had to fill in the required details in the application form and upload their passport-size photograph. After that, candidates have to accept the declaration and submit the online application form.
Pay the application fee

Get MITID DAT Admit Card
The admit card was generated and sent to the candidate's registered email ID after scrutiny, verification and acceptance of the application form. Candidates could also download their Admit Card by logging into their profile on the MIT DAT portal. MITID DAT admit card contains details such as the name and roll number of the candidate as well as the date, time, and allotted center for the design entrance exam.
MITID DAT Eligibility Criteria
The eligibility criteria that candidates need to fulfill to get admission in B.Des and M.Des programmes through MITID DAT 2023 are listed below:
- UG Course Eligibility Criteria: Candidates who have passed Class 12 in any stream from a recognized board such as HSC, CBSC, ICSE, IB meet MITID-DAT eligibility criteria for BDes programme. For B.Des, the age Limit is 20 years.
- PG Course Eligibility Criteria: Candidates who have an undergraduate degree in 10+2+3 pattern from a recognized university fulfill MITID-DAT 2023 eligibility criteria for MDes programme. For M.Des, age limit is 30 years.

Phase 1: MITID Design Entrance Test (MITID DET) 2026 is an entrance exam of design for admission to B.Des and M.Des programs offered by MIT Institute of Design Pune, Avantika University Ujjain and MIT University Shillong. The exam is conducted at multiple test centers across India. Candidates who are shortlisted on the basis of the MITID DET score are eligible for the next phase.
Phase 2: Studio Test and Personal Interview for MITID DET 2026 will be conducted at the MIT Institute of Design campus in Pune. Stage 2 includes Studio Test and Personal Interview. The candidate needs to clear both phases to get admission.
